Frears set to direct Tracer

Stephen Frears, the Oscar-nominated director of The Queen, is venturing into American series television with CBS' drama pilot Skip Tracer, which he is set to direct and executive produce.

The project stars Stephen Dorff as a skip tracer--a guy who finds people who have tried to disappear.

This is not the first time Frears has worked with CBS. In 2000, he directed the network's live restaging of the 1964 Cold War drama Fail Safe, spearheaded by and starring George Clooney.

Frears' big-screen credits include Mrs. Henderson Presents, High Fidelity, and The Grifters, for which he received an Oscar nomination.
