Friday Afternoon Distractions

Whiling away your last few hours at work? These videos should help make time fly extra fast!

The annual ARIA Music Awards took place in Sydney on Sunday, and things didn't go too smoothly.

Awkward hosting, poor staging, bad weather and a poor choice of location resulted in one of the worst-rating award shows of recent years. It wasn't all doom and gloom, however, with some well-deserving artists being recognised for their talents, including Angus and Julia Stone, Powderfinger and current industry darling, Washington, who won Best Breakthrough Artist.

The ubiquitous Glee clip of the week heralds the arrival of Darren Criss. The internet star has been cast as a potential love interest for Kurt (Chris Colfer), much to the joy of Gleeks worldwide.

After transferring to a new school with a zero tolerance policy on bullying, Kurt is welcomed with appropriate pizzazz by this Katy Perry a cappella cover.

Nom nom nom.

Superman aficionados who have followed the television adaptations from the '90s will associate Teri Hatcher with Lois Lane before her role as Susan Mayer in Desperate Housewives earned her worldwide recognition.

And there's nothing better than a cameo performance that draws all the strings of a franchise together, as Teri appears in Smallville, this time as Lois' mother.

Keenan Cahill is the newest internet sensation, with his poor lip-syncing and self-deprecating mimes to rap classics.

Garnering hundreds of thousands of followers on YouTube has, inevitably, given him mainstream exposure, with comedian and talk show host Chelsea Handler convincing 50 Cent to take part in a parody video on her show, Chelsea Lately.

And finally, we really can't get enough of the Inception remixes, as out-of-date as they are. Combine them with an assortment of cute animals, and we are sold.
