Futurama Gets Two More Years

... This would have been amazing news many years ago, but now it's merely... good news, everyone! Futurama has been given a two-year extension by Comedy Central, producer David X. Cohen announced at Comic-Con this weekend. But let's face it. Since being revived by the center of comedy, Futurama hasn't been the same. At least it's better than Workaholics. [Reuters]

... Great news for Community fans. The NBC comedy, which is already awesome, is getting better. John Goodman is joining the cast of the show for at least six episodes as Vice Dean Laybourne, the head of Greendale's air-conditioning repair school. It sounds weird now, but I'm sure it will all make sense later. [TV Line]

... Omar comin'... to teach Abed biology! Community has also recruited Michael K. Williams to join season 3 for at least three episodes as the gang's new biology professor. Williams' is best known for playing Omar Little in HBO's The Wire and is currently in Boardwalk Empire. [TV Guide]

... Rex Lee, aka Lloyd from Entourage, will be a regular on ABC's Suburgatory. He'll play a guidance counselor at the school where Tessa, a girl plucked out of the big city and planted into the suburbs, is enrolled. [Deadline Hollywood]

... Reed Diamond (Homicide: Life on the Street) will guest star on The Mentalist. He'll play a CBI supervising agent, and I'll just assume you know what that means and save us both the trouble of me awkwardly fumbling around The Mentalist show page. [TV Guide]

... Mad Men's Jon Hamm will guest star on The Increasingly Poor Decisions of Todd Margaret, the funniest show you haven't seen. [Huff Post]

... Kelli Giddish will reprise her role as Sophia Russo in The Good Wife in the season 3 premiere (at least). Giddish was recently cast as one of the new good guys in Law & Order: SVU. Way to make it in Hollywood, you incredibly attractive blonde! [TV Line]

... Jack Coleman (HRG from Heroes) will guest star on The Vampire Diaries. He'll play "a former resident of Mystic Falls who returns home with a dangerous point of view about vampires." In other words, he won't play a teenage girl or lonely suburban mom. [TV Guide]

... James Franco will return to General Hospital for a "longterm" arc, because this is the kind of stuff Franco does. It will be his fourth visit to the soap. [TV Guide]

... Mark Hamill is joining the cast of Chuck as a villain. If you don't know who Mark Hamill is, then just keep going on about your business being popular. [EW]

... House is inviting a new lady in. Odette Annable, last seen on the not-yet-dead Fox comedy Breaking In, is joining House as a regular. Rumor is she will play someone Dr. House meets in prison. [Deadline Hollywood]

... Finally, word is that Lea Michele, Chris Colfer, and Cory Monteith will NOT be leaving Glee as previously reported. At Comic-Con, series co-creator Brad Falchuk said that just because they're graduating from the show's fake school doesn't mean they're leaving the show as co-creator Ryan Murphy previously said. You know, the more information that comes out from Glee, the more it seems like no one actually knows what's going on with that show. [Deadline Hollywood]
