Good news for fans of fantasy football comedy minus the fantasy football part. Just in time for fantasy football playoffs, FX has renewed The League for a fourth season. The comedy's third season has built on its audience to the tune of 1.7 million viewers, a 25-percent increase from last year. Translation: After starting out and becoming known as "the show that's paired with It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia," The League has found its stride and is getting more popular. Season 4 will premiere next fall.
The League is billed as a comedy about a group of friends involved in a fantasy football league, but you don't have to know your Peyton Mannings from your Peyton Hillises to enjoy it. It's really just a show about a group of friends who joke about wacking off and penises, and who sometimes do other things, time permitting. Plus it has Nick Kroll and Paul Scheer and a revolving door of great guest stars.
The League is currently airing on Thursdays at 10:30pm on FX.

I am from the Virgin Islands typical black Islander. I grew up watching In Living Color, the Cosby Show, Sanford and Son, Jefferson, and Good Times. Basically, the typical black comedy never got into the mainstream comedy "how i met your mother, Raymond" so on so forth. Ladies and Gentlemen The League is the funniest show I've ever watched i am still laughing i love those guys it helps that i am in couple fantasy leagues and plus i have friends who talk smack so i relate with Kevin and friends. FX has taken control of true comedy with the League. My wife hates fantasy football but she is also hooked on the show. They have to keep this show going easily my favorite show it gets better every episode.
love love love this show! Andre as Jason Statham at the end of season 3 is one of my favourite bits! SO glad it's got a well deserved 4th season! Shivakamini Somakandarkrammmmmmmmmmmmm!!!! :D
So deserved. I still cannot get the image of Silverman and Goldblum in the bathroom out of my mind. Underrated amazing cast and writing.
I've been catching up, and I don't know anything about Fantasy Football but the show is funny! I bet it would be funnier if I knew more about Football, but I don't think it's necessary so woohoo!
One of the best shows on TV. Just needs more Raffi.
OMG Jason Mantzoukas just cracks me up whenever he appears on a screen.. His delivery is so funny... They should make him a recurrent...
Being european I didn't even know the rules of football before watching this show but it's just too funny... It's one of the last few shows that gets me genuinely laughing out loud... One of the most underrated comedies on TV right now... FX definately know their comedies...
All six regular members of this cast work really well together. I'm pleased to see it get a much deserved renewal.
Forget about the boring network Thursday night shows. Neither NBC or CBS has had a solid hour of funny shows in years. This is fantastic news. It defies the standard cliches of network comedy and makes you laugh each new episode. One of the best characters is Kevin and Jenny's adorable daughter Ellie who is rude and crude with a vicious potty mouth and learned it all from her parents. A completely realistic child in an adult half hour comedy is the rarest of all. Great show, great news of its renewal.
I heard that a lot of it is improv. These guys are hilarious and very naturally funny
Yep lot of improv.. The guys who created the show are from Curb your enthusiasm so they kept the same process...
I love this show, lets keep it going bring on season 20 :D
It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia has become a chore to watch. It hasn't even been kinda funny since season 5. The League has surpassed it in every way.
Woo-hoo!
Hooray, Taco rules!
This is the only place i can say more Taco, without a straight face!
Thank god. I love this show.
I worship SHIVA!!! And Taco. Neck Flix. Genius. The Thanksgiving episode was great.
This is the funniest (and possibly most quotable) show currently on television. If you haven't seen it, it's worth picking up the DVDs and watching from episode 1 to get a feel for who everyone is, plus a lot of laughs along the way.
It can be very crude, but it's the funniest show on tv.
I've told myself a few times over the past few months to give this show a try, but I have yet to watch an episode. For whatever reason, I keep brushing it off till later.
I started watching "The League" simply because I had a 1/2 hour to kill after "...Sunny..." It often grosses me out, but I laugh my butt off just the same.
