Why is everyone hating on Season 2? Was it as good as Season 1? No. Was it as good as the book? Hell no. But it was still great. Yeah, they changed Dany's story and that sucks but anyone who's read Clash of Kings knows that her story was incredibly cerebral, not to mention repititious. If it had been brought over wrote from the book, Dany would have been absent from half the season. She was missing from 2 episodes as it was.

The writing was great. The acting was great. And Blackwater was a masterpiece. What more could you ask for?

You answered your 1st question with your 2nd and 3rd question(even more so with 3rd question and your answer). In 4th book, half of main characters are missing, but it is still a great book. So she would be absent from some episodes. So what. Fuck them for what they are doing. I love Dany's,Jon Snow's,Arya's,Tyrion's chapters in books. They need no tweaking or anything. Those are my favourite characters. Other characters are also great and well written.

If you were honestly expecting it to even compare to the book, why did you even bother watching it in the first place? I could have told you the book would be better without even having to watch it. I have never seen a film adaption of a book that was ever better than the source material.

The 4th book is different because DwD & FfC have a very set divide. Whatsmore, something happens in the every story. Of the 70 chapters in CoK, Dany only narrates 5. And nothing happens in 3 of them. She arrives in Qarth. She goes to the House of the Undying. That's about it.

As for the changes, what difference does it make in the grand scheme of the story? Irri's dead and her little love triangle from later books never happens. Big whoop.

I'm sorry but what was changed in Arya's, Jon's & Tyrion's stories? Weasel soup & the chain were cut for budgetary reasons but the essential story & the message that GRRM was trying to convey are in there.

I really think you're being too harsh. It's abundantly clear that David & Dan love the story & are doing their level best to bring the story to life within the parameters they have to live in. Setting Dany aside(whose story was pretty minor in CoK), it was an very faithful adaption & excellently done. GRRM is consulting on all of this. If he approves the changes and can live with them, I don't see why you can't.

It is only 10 eps again. However, each episode is gonna be 5 mins longer than last year. So technically, that's a whole 11th episode parsed in :)

You know HBO season 3 trailers sucks I have seen on YoutTube someone who made a fan based trailer which is much better than what they put out and those bastards removed it instead of taking his trailer and paying him some money for the great job he did

Mance looks... older than I thought, and a lot less handsome. But then again, this guy played Caesar in "Rome", he's a tremendously good actor. Let the games begin!

"This guy" is Ciaran Hinds, a very fine actor, in the strictest sense.
He plays politicians very well, too.

Dont think it will be in this season as its based on the first half of the book, I read it ages ago though so not sure where abouts in the book it is.

It was split into two separate books only in some places. In the US at least, I got it as a single book. So when they split A Storm of Swords, they will be doing it at a point slightly after the RW. They've already shot it, and a lot of people on set confirmed it.

I'm willing to bet it will be episode 9, because all of the major holy crap episodes have been episode 9.

Because those are usually the episodes that Martin writes for the shows... "Baelor", "Blackwater"... All I know is, it had BETTER be this season. I know they're splitting the book up, but I've been dying to see this since I read it. Another year of waiting would be brutal.

GRRM did not write Baelor in season 1. He wrote episode 8 'The Pointy End'.
Flag
GRRM wrote episode 7 for season 3,so it might happen in that one. Or he will set everything up...I pray, that it will better than 2nd season. I love GRRM's books, but if they fuck up this season,I am done watching GoT.

oh mannnnn this season is gonna be the best one yet!

Best? I don't think so....one of better or one among the best on tv right now...yeah I agree.
Spartacus,Person of Interest, Breaking Bad beat/stomp/demolish GoT by miles and miles. I know it differs from person to person,of what they think is the best and what is best in their eyes. For me,with season 1 GoT was easily in top 5 shows, but with 2nd season it slipped down in ranks. Season 3 should put it back on tracks...hopefully *fingers crossed*

Game of Thrones is so much better than Spartacus its not even funny.

Whatever gets you through the day. They are doing "adaptation" of books and they screwed up royally with 2nd season. Only episode people talk about from 2nd season,is episode 9...the one GRRM wrote and without shadow of doubt, that was best episode of season. Get your head out of all that hype and GoT ass and face reality...like many people need to. Again, hopefully they won't screw up 3rd season...if they do,they are done for.

And saying that their done for is just stupid, the show is already the second most watched HBO show of all time behind The Sopranos.
Flag
No, they are not "done for". It might be best for you to quit now, because obviously you're an arrogant tool with no brains and taste whatsoever. It seems that Qaro was your favorite character of the books(?) considering your constant bitching. If retards like you would write an adaption we'll get Adam Sandler as the great Gatsby.

The second season is better than the first and the third season will be even better.
Flag
How did they screw up season 2(and quote more reasons than just Dany. Dany's story made up only 5 chapters of a 70 chapter book)?

Spartacus is better as in Son's Of Anarchy!!!

I would say...

1. Breaking Bad.
2. Homeland.
3. Spartacus
4. Game of Thrones.

But my opinion about the order of Spartacus and GoT can change from day to day. I don't know what I should choose as #5, maybe TWD, SoA, PoI or Fringe. All I can say is that there's a big awesomeness gap between #4 and #5.
