Nine weeks away. Nine weeks! The second season of HBO's Game of Thrones debuts April 1; until then, we have to make do with whatever new footage we can pick apart from the teasers the network throws into our food bowls. The second full trailer for Game of Thrones aired just before the premiere of Luck tonight, and it's obvious that things in Westeros are going to get a lot more complicated before the correct butt makes contact with the Iron Throne.
Let's just embed the thing so you can get to the goodies.
Varys the Spider dropping some serious knowledge about power! Or, more importantly, the illusion of power. Season 1 ended in shambles for the Starks, in riches for the Lannisters, and in naked bodies covered in tiny fire-breathing lizards for the Targaryens. But as Varys's riddle explains, this game is far from over, and the balance of power will continue to teeter-totter until every player on the board is cleared off except for one. Even a small man has a shot. Go Team Tyrion!
Game of Thrones Season 2 premieres April 1 on HBO.

I will begin the season 1 marathon soon and then enjoy reading book 2 again! Next thing I know, the game of thrones will begin!!!
9 weeeks...ugh, the waiting is killing me!
DARN... Can't they just move it up to like...hmm... 02-03 lol
WICKEDDDD......!
Sweet, Cant wait!!!
best show on tv!!! after fringe
I'm still gutted I STILL haven't seen S1, because that git Murdoch put it on his exclusive channel that Virgin viewers don't get. While I'm at it, Branson, you suck, too, for not making a deal. Still waiting for the DVD release in March.
Woohoo!!!!!!
I need a time maschine, just not to go to the past but to the future.
I need April 1st to come as soon as possible, can't wait it anymore :)
I hope the new season will be 50 episodes long, with each episode lasting 2.5 hours each!
true!!!
and even that i think wont be enough :)
That would be awesome !
But then, civilization would crumble into dust cause everyone constantly watches GoT. Is this what the mayans were talking about ?
Best end of the world ever!
Tooooo coool!
Doesn't look like they are sticking to the one book to a season format though but honestly I'm pleased! I think although they will have to trim the fat so to speak this way, one book per season would have dragged!
Very excited to watch!
To me it looks like they're sticking to one book, I don't see anything here that isn't in A Clash of Kings
Jaime is not in ACoK until the very end, but in the show he will feature more prominently in season 2. That means we'll get the first part of Jaime's story from book 3 in season 2. Also, in the show they will be showing Robb doing what he does instead of what the book did--other characters only hearing about him.
Would it drag? We are talking about ~10 Episode Seasons.
Well, I believe book 3 is split into 2 seasons
Wow... Looks amazing! I'm half way through the novel (keep taking breaks), so I guess I better get reading. Still amazing to see how they adapt and play it out.
I AM LOOKING FORWARD TO WATCHING THIS GUYS
I know what's coming. I read the novel.
And oh geez. Oh geez. Can't wait.
I did not hear about the novel until the end of season 1, avoiding it as much as possible do not want to spoil it for myself. But assuming that the first season is the first book, I might just pick that one up.
Once you read the first one, you have to continue, I told myself that first season was over, so for some extra information/background, I would read the first book, and then wait for the second season, but after book one, I had to know what happened next, so I read book two, currently, I finished the 4th book yesterday, and about to start the 5th book.
I know what you mean! I intended to only read the 1st book too, but could not help myself and finished all 5 last summer. I must say, I do like the book better the show because of the diff point of views.
its gonna be 61 long days. (from today 31Jan that is) i will keep my countdown updated
The "Lord of Rings " of TV Shows
Wow, this looks amazing, I can't wait until the Game resumes!
I've read the 5 books and i've seen the first season, this will be the best series ever!!
Absolutely awesome, and I fully remember this analogy of the illusion of power from the books, perfect for the trailer
am i the only one who thinks this might end up being a huge april fools prank done by hbo?
Ooooh I hope you are the only one, i really do, hahahaha
Ooh so cool, I cannot wait!!!
Halfman! Halfman!
Wow, that looked terrible. Just kidding. I really can't wait. After last season I read all the books in about a week.
too long to wait...
Nice real nice! cannot wait!
meeeep
really glad that i started to read the books , couldnt have handled another 3month without game of thrones
Oh the utterly charming Joffrey!!.. !Exorcizamus te, omnis immundus spiritus!
cool, coolcoolcool
OMG I CAN'T WAIT. NERDGASAMING.
These trailers are doing more bad than good, I CAN'T WAIT ANYMOREEEEEEEE; Be right back, gonna sleep til' April 1
I'm sure that a significant chunk of the viewing public would have read the books by now. I hope that season 2 deviates a little from the books (but not too much) just to keep the audience guessing.
Maybe Joffrey gets gobbled up by a dragon. Who wouldn't want to see that??
It's gonna be awesome!!!
I want it now dammit. April 1st can't get here fast enough.
Man I love this show. Peter Dinklage for the win, Tyrion Lannister is easily one of the best characters. Though I will say that Arya gives him a run for his money (and he has a lot of it).
Yes, I think I'd agree with this, but I'd add 2 more characters, Littlefinger and Jon Snow, and actually, as I'm writing this I'm starting to doubt it though, and want to add another couple of characters, how about Danaerys (dragons!) & Jaime Lannister?, and for characters from books 2 & 3 I could add another 10 characters. And this is why I think the 4th book & season is probably going to be the least interesting one, as it doesn't feature Danaerys or Tyrion, although you get to see more of the world, like the Ironmen, Bravos & Dorne. You know what, everyone and everything is interesting, I can't wait! =D
The first season got me so hooked I've had to pick up the books. I'm now just about to finish book 5, and have just realised how long it is likely to be until book 6 comes out (A LONG TIME!)
I'm not ashamed to say that watching this trailer gets me excited, and yes, down below as well.
The only thing I am worried about is how good the special effects of the dragons will be? There are so few movies / tv shows that have actually pulled off a good dragon that I'm just feeling a bit anxious that it won't live up to my extremely high demands of this show. Has the first season, being so amazing, set the bar too high? I hope not, in fact I hope it's just setting the base level of quality and the bigger the story gets the bigger and better the story telling will get.
I just can't wait!moreless
If Once Upon a Time on ABC could make a good looking dragon on television, I'm sure Game of Thrones will!
Yeah 3 dragons to boot!!!
