Garber cast in Berlanti pilot

Victor Garber, late of Fox's shelved Justice, has been cast in Greg Berlanti's new ABC pilot Eli Stone. Garber joins series star Jonny Lee Miller.

Eli Stone tells the story of a San Francisco lawyer (Miller) who comes to realize he might be a prophet. Rather than get himself to a shrink, Stone combines his legal powers and prophetic insight and uses them for good. Garber will play his future father-in-law, who happens to be his boss at the powerful law firm.

Berlanti created the beloved cult show Everwood on the WB. Everwood was cancelled last year when The WB network merged with UPN to create The CW.

Earlier this season, Garber top-lined the Fox series Justice. In that show, Garber played a smooth-talking lawyer who used his legal powers for good. Before that, he played the role of spy Jack Bristow, father to Jennifer Garner's Sydney Bristow, on ABC's action series Alias. Garber was nominated for three Emmys for his work on Alias.

Miller came to fame in the 1996 film Trainspotting in which he played Sick Boy, a drug addict who could do an excellent Sean Connery impression.

I doubt it that his new show won't last. He should go back to "Justice."

We miss him in a good role like Jack.
Please give him a good role.

Eli Stone actually sounds intriguing. Of course, ABC won't give it a chance unless it gets AMerican Idol ratings week after week...

Victor Garber deserves a role far bigger than one inside a law firm. Everyone who saw him as Jack Bristow...well...

I would be willing to watch this show just to see Victor Garber. I really wish they would have given

Justice a chance but Victor is a great actor
