I've got some good news for people who like little-watched but funny comedies. HBO has ordered a second season of the nurse sitcom Getting On, just as as we expected it would. The second season will run for six episodes; that's the same number of episodes as Season 1, but still a unusually small number for a second season.
Perhaps you haven't even heard of Getting On, given how quietly it debuted late last year. The medical comedy is an adaptation of the BBC show of the same name, and it stars Laurie Metcalf, Niecy Nash, and Alex Borstein. It was imported to the U.S. by Big Love creators Mark V. Olsen and Will Scheffer, and old ladies swear in it. Getting On was a sneaky surprise for me, and I ended up liking it a lot. If you checked it out, what'd YOU think?
