Amy Sherman-Palladino, who created the popular drama Gilmore Girls for The WB, has a pilot commitment with the Fox network for her new comedy. Sherman-Palladino and coproducing husband Dan Palladino left the WB show at the end of last season.
Like Gilmore, the new series follows two women. Unlike Gilmore, the show doesn't follow a mother and daughter--instead, it tells the story of two sisters who come together after one agrees to carry the baby of the other.
Palladino has a resume full of half-hour comedies, including Roseanne, the Kirstie Alley vehicle Veronica's Closet, and the short-lived CBS sitcom Can't Hurry Love.
Gilmore stars Lauren Graham and Alexis Bledel recently spoke at the TCA summer press tour alongside new show-runner Dave Rosenthal.

Because of the fire in Griffth Park, we missed the show (Tues. May 9th. 2007) Will they show it again? Please do not take this show off the air!Especially until you've actually wriiten a show finale! Not a season finale. Do you realize after seven years, we fans, deserve a real finale!!! You shouldn't cancel the show anyway, but if you do...I think you could have at least let the Cast, Crew & Writers know. After this week's episode I am really missing Amy Sherman-Palladino. The characters don't sound the same at all. What is with the slow-talking? Since when has Lorelai EVER called Christopher "DAD" (as if Rory is two years old!)? What happened to the whitty banter? Why all the wide, exterior shots? I predict this season to be Gilmore Girls' swan song and it is sounding way off-key to me!!!!
it feels like somethings missing from the season premeire. maybe cuz there was no Doyle, no Laine, , and only a little scene with Paris. it just felt like there was a hole. but of course it was still good.

I have watched episodes of all 6 seasons over and over. I am a huge fan of the show. Or I was. I refuse to watch it anymore since Lorelei and Luke are breaking up. I hate the Luke/April/Anna storyline and I have no desire to watch it anymore. :(
Amy and Dan had their reasons for leaving GG but in my opinion they should have stayed until the end. Amy said it herself it is all down hill after GG. It will be hard for to fill Amy's shoes.

This show could definitely be a great watch unless they make the dialogue too much like Gilmore Girls. Here's to hoping its just as great but in a different way.
