Glee for Gwyneth

The set of Glee will be sprinkled with Oscar dust when award-winning actress Gwyneth Paltrow guest stars in two episodes of the show's second season.

This won't be the first time that Paltrow has flexed her vocal chords on screen though. After performing with Huey Lewis in Duets and posing as a sultry lounge singer in Infamous, the Hollywood actress has proved that an all-singing, all-dancing appearance in Glee is well within her capabilities.

The wife of Coldplay's Chris Martin and mother of two is set to appear in two episodes this season, which premiered this week to knock-out ratings.

According to Glee creator Ryan Murphy, Paltrow will play a substitute teacher in the show and we speculate that she is almost certain to draw the attentions of Puck (Mark Salling), Finn (Cory Monteith) and even Mr Schuester (Matthew Morrison).

Extolling Paltrow's virtues, Murphy told the BBC that "Gwyneth is a great singer, she's done it a little bit but I really want to show it off and show everyone how great she is."

Paltrow is an addition to the already impressive list of guest stars set to lend their talents to the musical series, including Britney Spears and Javier Bardem.

Glee airs 7:30pm Wednesdays on TEN.

What did you think of the season two premiere?

Lol - anyone else remember Ryan Murphy's other show - "Popular" Mary Cherry and Nicole would be going nuts :)
