Gold Logie for Home And Away Ray

The actor, who has played Alf Stewart in Home And Away for the last 22 years, was awarded the Gold Logie at the Australian awards ceremony.

TV Week reports that the actor was taken aback by beating previous winner Rebecca Gibney, who stars in Aussie series Packed To The Rafters, to the award for the Most Popular TV Personality.

Ray apparently delighted the crowd by accepting his award and saying that he thought Rebecca "had it home and hosed".

In a good night for Five's Home And Away, its star Luke Mitchell was also awarded the Most Popular New Male Talent Logie for his role as Romeo.

Gabriella Cilmi, KD Lang and John Mayer were among performers at the glitzy ceremony.

A very smart and diplomatic answer. It’s really appreciable and
general.
