There's been a lot of activity on the television transaction wire as of late, and two more actresses are joining the list according to online reports. Grey's Anatomy is saying goodbye to a relatively new character, and Ugly Betty is parting ways with a series regular since day one.
Unlike previous Grey's Anatomy exits, Melissa George, who plays bisexual intern Sadie, is parting ways with the show with no ill will, says EW.com. George, who was just nominated for a Golden Globe for her role in HBO's In Treatment, initially was signed on for almost a dozen episodes with an option to stay on as a series regular, but instead wants to "do something else."
Over at Ugly Betty, Scottish actress Ashley Jensen--who plays Christina McKinney--is asking to be let out of her contract and leave the show at the end of the season, according to E! Online. It's not a huge move, as insiders say she likely wouldn't have been retained as a regular for the next season. As for the reasons for Jensen's departure, they are a lot cloudier; representatives aren't talking about the contracts.

Christina is so funny on Ugly Betty! Too bad...
Could have been worse. Like loosing lexie on GA or Mark on UB. Did not like Sadie's character, but I always thougt that Christina's character made UB more of a comedy. She was a character that made the show in balance.
I never liked Sadie's character, so it doesnt matter. But Christina is so much fun and such a great and amazing part of Ugly Betty! That is not right. :/
Too bad I decided to quit G's A (wich is going downhill IMO) but the news of Melissa George coming on the show made me take a step back, but now that she's leaving I think I'll tune out all together
I like Melissa George, but Grey's didn't give Sadie much to do. With budget cuts happening everywhere, I'm sure alot of casts are going to be trimmed to keep costs down. The good news is that scripts will focus more on main characters and less on filler.
sadie was a nice secondary character. but i guess i won't miss her that bad.
I never really cared for Christina so no big loss for me.
As soon as they made Christina the 'Baby Mama' for Wilhelmina her days were numbered. What, she was going to stick around and watch Willie raise the baby against everything she morally abhored? It's too bad though. There are very few "good" characters on Ugly Betty outside of Betty's family (and even Betty's sister has had a slip or two or three, although I wouldn't call her evil by any stretch.) Daniel is "good" but weak. Christina was the one she could always bounce things off of. Who will she go to now?
On the upside, I like the thought that meredith had a pre-christina. They are just as close as meredith and christina(or at least they use to be. It is kind of good that sadie was there to keep meredith going.
I like Melissa Gerorge. kind of.. I think her character Sadie is kind of annoying though. I mean she took out her own appendix. why the heck did she do that anyway. I think she is suppose to be an intern version of meredith because sadie was technically trying to kill herself. I personally love the show but,everyone is leaving it is so sad.
im glad melissa george is leaving, too. she doesn't make the show any better and i don't want her and callie to be together.
I'm so glad Melissa George is leaving, I haven't been able to stand the character she portrays on the Grey's one bit! I'm so ecstatic she decided not to become a series regular. I haven't seen Melissa George in anything else, so this is my only taste of her, so to speak, so I'm not a fan, although she probably does real nice work, if she made me hate her so much on Grey's, she's probably a good actress.
Wow there must be some weird vibe on the set of Grey's that is making all the actors run for the hills. Its more entertaining than the show itself at this point
I like Melissa George, but Sadie was seriously so freaking annoying, I hated that character. Glad she's gone!!
Ashley Jensen can't leave. She may not be on the show that often, but she is funny when she is.
I will miss Ashley Jensen. She was one of my favorite characters. But I have slowly lost interest in both of these shows. I doubt if I will keep watching them next season unless they improve.
Grrrrr why are all of Callie's ladies leaving ?!?!?

Well Melissa George has been great in everything I've ever seen her in -- from Alias to In Treatment. She'll be missed on Grey's Anatomy as this show did need a little rejuvenating.
I never really liked Sadie so I probably won't miss her...I don't really like the whole Callie/Sadie thing either so I guess it really has no impact on me :D

I think the one from Ugly Betty was good on there. Sad to say that I will not miss Sadie on GA.
I really like Christina. I think Ashley Jensen will be really missed. I'm not so fussed about Melissa George's character on Grey's Anatomy so won't miss her.
What? No more Christina on Ugly Betty?
I never really made a connection with Melissa George's character, so I can't say it's a horrible loss. Now Brooke Smith's departure, that's another story.
