Harper's Island to slay in April

Newsflash: CBS has a new show coming out soon...and it's not a crime procedural. The network known for NCIS, CSI, and The Mentalist is trying something a little different in Harper's Island, and now we finally know when we'll be able to see if it pays off.

Harper's Island, a serialized whodunit set on an island in the Pacific Northwest, will take its first bow on Thursday, April 9, at 10 p.m. Instead of being about an acronym-titled team of crime solvers, this CBS show will be about a wedding party dealing with a succession of murders and the attempt to figure out who the killer is. Likely tagline: "The murderer...could be one of them!"

More closely rooted in CBS' bread and butter is Flashpoint, which returns Friday, January 9, at 9 p.m. The show is based on a Canadian task force that deals with a variety of messy situations.

CBS two long-running reality programs, Survivor and The Amazing Race, have set their returns for February 12 and February 15, respectively.

Ashton Kutcher is at it again, this time with Game Show in My Head, which airs Saturday nights at 8 p.m. starting on January 3. The competition features regular people performing embarrassing stunts while a hidden camera catches all the hilarity.
