Dougray Scott is in negotiations to appear on ABC's Desperate Housewives as a new love interest for Teri Hatcher's character.
Scott most recently starred on the short-lived NBC series Heist and the ABC miniseries The Ten Commandments.
In separate castings for rival NBC, ER has tapped Paula Malcomson for a season-long arc, while comedian Ayda Field has joined NBC's upcoming Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip.
Malcomson, who plays the harlot Trixie on HBO's Deadwood, will play a love interest for John Stamos' character, Tony Gates. She plays the widow of Gates' best friend, who turns to him for companionship and as a father figure for his son.
Studio 60, starring Matthew Perry and Amanda Peet, is a behind-the-scenes look at a fictional late-night sketch comedy series. Field will play one of the sketch show's cast members.
