Hawaii Five-0 nab Lost burglar

The Honolulu Star-Bulletin reported today that police have arrested a suspect in the home-invasion robbery of Lost actor Josh Holloway. The man, identified as 20-year-old Ruben Royce, was arrested in connection with several robberies and acts of aggression.

Last week, Holloway, who plays the character Sawyer on the popular ABC series Lost, and his wife Yessica were roused from sleep at around 4:30 a.m. by a man who had entered their home in the Oahu neighborhood of Hawaii Kai. The man held them at gunpoint and demanded they give him money and valuables. He also took the keys to Holloway's car, which was later found abandoned nearby.

Royce was arrested at 10 a.m. Tuesday after an armed standoff near an elementary school that had been locked down due to the police action. As Royce resisted arrest he was squirted with pepper spray rounds and pelted with wooden bullets.

According to the Star-Bulletin, police arrested Royce for several home-invasion robberies, suspicion of first-degree burglary (in which he assaulted his girlfriend), three counts of abuse of a household member, and two counts of violating a restraining order.

Police also arrested an unidentified 20-year-old Palolo man, who drove the car Royce was in, on two counts of reckless driving. Several Honolulu police units were involved in the arrest, including a SWAT team of the Specialized Services Division.

In response to queries that the police made this case a high priority due to Holloway's celebrity status, police Captain Frank Fujii said: "It's the media that made the Holloway case a very high-profile case for us, but we've treated this investigation like every other investigation."

Lost, now in its second season, tells the story of a group of plane crash survivors who are stuck on a mysterious, possibly supernatural, island. Created by Damon Lindelof and Alias creator J.J. Abrams, it is one of the top-rated shows on television, averaging 21 million viewers every Wednesday. The show is filmed on location in Hawaii.

Amazing a person could get in and cause so much trouble before they are even 21 years old.

I guess while everyone that young man knows is living in an island paradise, he himself will be imprisoned in it.

Sounds like he is kind of Lost now.

Very misleading headline. There is no such organization as Hawaii Five-O in real life. Only on television did it exist.
