Heigl wants to stay at Seattle Grace.
Despite being forced to have sexual relations with a ghost and given near-fatal brain cancer, Grey's Anatomy's Izzie Stevens--or rather, the actress who plays her--wants to stick around. Katherine Heigl told the Associated Press that she wants to stay on board the ABC drama, despite rumors that stated the opposite.
Attending the party for the show's 100th episode, Heigl said it's too early to say that producers are writing her off the hit show.
"I was assuming that at one point and I got a lot of shrugged shoulders and shakes of the head, so I don't know if that's a yes or a no," Heigl said. "No one will tell me and I don't know how this is going to go. I don't know if I live or die. I don't know how Izzie fares."
Her stance is in stark contrast to rumors that claimed the actress wanted off the show in order to pursue a film career, and that writers were happy to oblige. Heigl also famously withdrew her name from the 2008 Emmy race after saying she didn't feel she was given the material to be considered for the award. Her comments were seen as a slight to the Grey's Anatomy writing staff.
Izzie has had an unusual season on Grey's Anatomy, with storylines involving her dead ex and brain cancer that has only a five-percent survival rate. If Grey's Anatomy writers were trying to kill her off, they missed their chance when she survived her cancer scare.

if she leaves i'll be pretty sad about it because frankly i think she's the best actress the show has. i dunno how much i liked her material this season, with the whole denny hallucinations thing. but, at the same time, although some may not have liked that storyline i thought it was nice to see their (denny/izzie) relationship "develop" a bit more. of course it was a completely false development considering she was hallucinating but it gave fans of that relationship a bit of a taste of what it would have been like if denny had lived. hopefully she won't die, but honestly apart from another meredith/derek breakup (which is SO overdone) i don't see how they're going to make the finale very intriguing, interesting and downright shocking (as it should be). so her death won't surprise me but it would sadden me a lot.moreless
I fell that Izzie/Catherine has given the show the "sweet taste", so I wish she would stay onboard Grey's next seasons.
I would rather if she wasn't back next season, She has run her course in the series.. :)

I believe that Heigl's character "Izzie" is just as important to Grey's success as any other cast member. I thought the original episode when Denny died was terrific tv. However, the lame attempts to spice things up via his ghost were terrible! If Heigl wants to leave the show, fine, but I believe her character is so strong, that, should she leave, ratings will decline, and we all know what comes next. I thought the last couple of episodes were some of her best work. I hope she stays.
I was addicted to greys for the first 4 and a half seasons I stopped watching it after the whole sex with denny thing. It just got boring it is going the same way ER went. It got boring like 10 seasons ago and now it finally ended. Hopefully it will get better but I dont think so
she does annoy me sometimes but i love grey's and i love ALL the cast

I think the writers gave her the storyline she "asked for"...and deserved. Its fitting somehow that her fate has been in their hands...
It really bugs me that they mess with the audiences' minds like this. Since August, they've been saying that Izzie was going to get a terminal illness and die. Then she was finally diagnosed in March after all the Denny hallucinations, and after she's been given Stage 4 cancer, she's probably going to be "all better" by the series finale, and Katherine will remain in the cast. That makes no sense at all. If they were going to bother with this storyline at all, I hope they at least have the sense to do more with it. I'm just annoyed that after all that, Katherine's going to stay. I mean, I love her character and all, but it's a little irritating, too.
I hope Izzie stays-- while the last couple of seasons with her have been quite lame, she was the heart of the show and one of my favourite characters in the early seasons. How she handled her diagnosis (using it as a teaching tool, turning to Christina, etc) was worth watching. Plus, she's prompted a real change in Alex-- I want to see that develop, and see what happens between them.
I love Izzy she should stay!

I think it could go either way and probably be interesting. If Izzy dies, then it will give the whole Alex going on without her story an interesting vibe but I think they should keep her alive.
I used to like the character Izzy and Katherine Heigl. Then the writers came up with Gizzy and Katherine Heigl started acting like a diva. At this point, I don't care if they kill off Izzy or not.

I used to be into Izzy but then reading about Katherine Heigl and some of things she said just irritated me. Unfortunately, it stayed with me and Izzy started irritating me too. I can take her or leave her now.

Let Izzie stay, make something happen with george, kill off owen (preferibly suicide), merdith and derek get married and leave the show, chritina becomes cheif.
Please don't get rid of any of the characters, they're all great, just give George some good story lines, as well as the rest of the cast.

The show works because of its supporting cast, Lord knows it's not because of Meredith and Derek (who are annoying beyond belief), so the writers should really give them better storylines instead of killing them off.
I find her annoying so I would rather her just leave the show for good.

They're probably just torchering her cause she really did want to leave and she now knows that she won't be able to. So she's trying to make it seem like she never wanted to.
I love the character of Izzie, but feel that she really has been given some reaLLy bad story lines this season i don't blame her for removing her name at the emmy's. Its the same with the character of George he has really not been involved in this season so far. Please, please can we get some better story lines for these two characters!

well actually she has two more surgies to go through until all the cancer is gone, So im sure that complications will arise at some point. I really hope she stays though.

I hope they let her stay. Even after everything, Izzie still is and will always be my girl.btw, it's not brain cancer she has, it's melanoma stage IV. It's a skin cancer but because it's so advanced, it spread to her brain. And she's so not out of the woods yet, it's not a "cancer scare" she still has only 5% chance of survival.
I think she should get off the show and go for a movie career.
I really hope she stays!!! I will bawl if they kill her off :( ... PLEASE KEEP HER!!!!

That whole story line was completly crap. I called it months before. What a stupid plot. As far as getting rid of her I don't think it will matter either way. The show will still be garbage.

It is definetly not over. They've said it would took 7 procedures and 3 big surgerys.

I thought the surgery one the last episode of Grey's was just her first surgery. Didn't they say that it was much more than that? i don't think the cancer thing is over.
