Haha what? Breaking Bad not even nominated for best drama? These guys are taking something other than blue sky.

i just reread my comment...i meant to say comparable, not not comparable...

; - )

why/how do people get sucked in to being involved with/believing that, beyond a certain point, one work of art is not comparable to another...if they were THAT similar, we'd only watch ONE... ; - )

i know this takes away some of the adrenaline...lovely hormone, that...

but take it from someone on 'the other side of the fence', it's a matter more of recognition...

and i feel for the people that feel 'their' people were overlooked...

it builds character for an artist to know when their own work is moving/worthwhile...i'm not saying that second opinions can't be worthwhile, of course...

but we ALL walk that same lonely road where WE have to be happy with what we do/our lives...

and not leave it to others to judge our worth...

thanks for listening...

The Office is the only comedy show that I find funny so it's disappointing that they didn't get a nomination.

I'm glad that The Adventures of TinTin won, its really good :3

Congrats, Homeland & Luther :D:D!!!

I was happy Jessica Lange took home the prize! As for Community, it should have been presented the Most Overrated TV Series Since the Dawning of Televison Award.

at least Bryan Cranston got a nod but he should have won. I don't care how good he can act, I really don't like Kelsey Grammar. Go Jessica Lange! It was between her and Maggie Smith.

Matt LeBlanc? Really? Episodes was a shitty product in comparison with Californication or TBBT...

Just one nominated from Revenge... what a shame!

Good for Laura Dern! She was robbed at the Oscars for Inland Empire..

Where was Gus Fring? No justice I tell you..

TV guest roles only get awards at the Emmys so maybe...

Glad Modern Family won this time instead of Glee, then Ricky's bit about the HFPA being easy to bribe would have been spot on. But it's unfortunate that Glee's nod will give it advertising that other good comedy shows could use (Community, Parks and Rec).

Also wished that Parks and Rec was nominated for Best Comedy, then maybe it could have won instead of Modern Family. Amy Poehler, advanced good luck at the Emmys this year!

congratulations to every one...

I don't really have a problem with these winners, except that I wish Bryan Cranston would have won. He is awesome as Walt. And Modern Family isn't that great anymore. I liked season 2 more than most, but this season has just blown. It should have gone to Parks and Rec or Community except neither were nominated.

Tim, THANK YOU for including who won last year. Whenever I see a list of winners, I'm always curious to compare it to who won the previous year. Excellent decision.

Peter Dinklage and Jessica Lange winning= Me :-)

Not happy about Modern Family winning. Yes I love Glee, but I wouldn't have picked either to win.

- I think based on the nominations available, most of the wins were spot on.

Except for Modern Family. The show is funny, but last season was not Golden Globe worthy.

- Who chooses the nominees??

For Best Comedy Series why the hell is Glee even nominated? Where are the more deserving shows like Community and Parks & Recreation?

Even for Best Actor In A Comedy Role, those nominees DO NOT represent the funniest people on television (that is the point right? Am I missing something?). Even Kunal Nayyar is funnier than Johnny Galecki.

- On a friendlier note I have no problem with Kelsey Grammer winning over Bryan Cranston. Cranston was bloody awesome this season, but did people check out Grammer on Boss?? There's no way you can say he DIDN'T deserve to win.

- Idris Elba won! So did Downton Abbey. Hell yeah! I'm glad that underrated actors and shows are finally getting the credit they deserve.

"Finally, AMY POEHLER WAS ROBBED by someone I've never heard of who is on a show I've never heard of"...loved that post.

This year i am very supportive of the Foreign Press Assosciations choices. Kelsey Grammer is very very deserving and i kind of liked the choice. Claire Danes and Homeland are amazing. Peter Dinkelage too. It's kind of bummer Fringe and Community were overlooked once again, but thats old news.

What I do have an issue with is lots of the stars dresses/suits. Some of them were just hideous (i am thinking about you Tina Fey and Natalie Portman) and its getting worse year after year. Style seems to be an diminishing virtue in Hollywood. With noteable exceptions like Michelle Williams. And could some Makeup artist/wizard could pleas do anything to make Angelina Jolie look less frightening. I litteraly flinched everytime she was onscreen.

Homeland is NOTHING compared to Game of Thrones, how this happened is beyond me.

And usually I love Homeland type series.

I don't agree with so much of this list. Game of thrones should have won best drama. I literally have a hard time seeing how that was NOT the winner. It is the obvious winner. Also I've never even seen episodes, I thought that it was cancelled and that when it was on nobody liked it.

I havent seen Boss yet but i think that (John Noble , Fringe) Damian Lewis for Homeland deserved to win. He playing his character(s) sooo awesome

i think they jumped the gun on Homeland when there was so much other stuff that could have been nominated this year.

I'm really glad Homeland and Claire Danes won, and I'm not disappointed in the other wins either. No surprises there, except for Kelsey Grammer's win imo.

Community got ass-raped and also I woukd have prefered Game of Thrones to Homeland for best drama.

Bryan Cranston should have won best actor!!

"Did the Golden Globes get it right? Or are you still mad because Breaking Bad and Community weren't nominated?"

that last part says it all...

I haven't watched Homeland (I have built up a severe Police/FBI/CIA/whatever/series-o-phobia during the years...the only show I watch that even involves such things is Dexter, but I consider the whole police part of that series more as a sideline). But I hear it's really good so I won't complain it won, although if Breaking Bad didn't even get nominated that award means less than zero for me. Same for the comedy award for missing Community.

But I really hoped Amy Poehler would win, I didn't really know her before Parks and Rec. But in that show I've really started loving her character. Perhaps even the (better) equivalent of Steve Carrell in The Office!

Congrats Idris Elba, well deserved and surprised for me. The 2 Homeland Wins and the one for Jessica Lange were also great.
Reply

I didn't bother watching the show since pretty much all their nominations were for shows I don't watch.

Well done Claire and Homeland! And Peter Dinklage! And Matt Le Blanc! Very deserving winners.

Thank God Glee didn't win, although I think the comedy category was weak and it was pretty obvious that Modern Family would win.

Finally, AMY POEHLER WAS ROBBED by someone I've never heard of who is on a show I've never heard of.

I'm very happy for Homeland and Claire! They pulled off an amazing season, the best one in a very long time. Even though my favorite show is Breaking Bad, I think that Homeland is very close to it. Modern Family is the best comedy of the nominated, even though there are better comedies out there. And Cranston or Damian Lewis should've won the "Best actor in a drama"

Considering the nominations for each category, I'm not particularly disappointed of any of the winners.

Homeland and Game of Thrones are both great shows and I'd have been happy for either one of them winning... but I think I'm kind of happier Homeland won it, though.

Modern Family for best comedy is boring, but it's better than all the other nominations.

Cranston and Lewis are just as worthy, in my opinion, but I'm not disappointed that Grammer won. He's a boss... on Boss. Lame.

Yay for Claire Danes and Peter Dinklage.

Best Actor in a Comedy is a weird one. Episodes is all right, but I thought it was funny Matt LeBlanc was even nominated for this. However, now that he's won, I don't find it odd... probably because the other nominations are uh, blah.

I think this year they got it almost right!..

Most of the winners actually deserved it...Bryan Cranston losing to Gramer is my only disappointment. In that category Cranston should have won and NO one else. Damian Lewis is great in Homeland but Claire Danes, wow!!

Aside from the Best Supporting Actor/Actress choices to win these were horrible selections to win. Homeland is an OKAY show, but certainly not the best, and Claire Danes acting is absolutely HORRIBLE and completely unbelievable.

That said, I CAN understand why Homeland won best show -- while each of the other shows is better BY FAR than Homeland, Homeland is probably the only one that appeals to the general public, while other the others, save The Boss perhaps, are somewhat limited by genre and may only appeal to fans of that genre (okay, so Boardwalk Empire is not so easy to fit into a genre, but it still only appeals to certain people, I think). That, and a show with the theme of fighting terrorists is going to ring with a lot of Americans in particular.

Anyway, no surprise I never bother to remember the Globes, nor would I ever watch them.

I like Homeland, it is a gret series, but compared to Game of Thrones it is nothing. Leaves a kind of sour taste on the awards. Gz to Clare Danes though.

At least Peter Dinklage won, he is a highlight on Game of Thrones, plays the role so authentic - Big Congratulations.

Game of Thrones and Breaking Bad (they weren't even nominated? who is in charge of that?) are by a large margin the best on T.V. atm ... Suspenseful and well done.

My personal favourite is Idris Elba, I saw Luther by accident and got drawn to the show. I love Luthers character, the brilliance but also the tragic of his personality. Really happy to see him win this.

And in my mind Jim Parsons was nominated and won.

Overall very good choices of winners. Of course, there are a few categories which must have seen tight races, but I still think the winners deserve to win just as much as the ones who came second (e.g. Homeland vs Game of Thrones). The only ones that I have a problem with are Modern Family as Best Comedy, and Matt LeBlanc as Best Actor in Comedy. Now I'm not saying that they are bad choices, I'm just saying that they are debatable.

Modern Family is a great show, and I watch it happily. And maybe it deserves to win out of those five options. But one can question if those five nominations were the best comedy shows in the first place. In my mind a few obvious options were missing. And secondly, does Modern Family really deserve to be showered with all the love it's getting? Sure, it's a good show, but is it really that good?

And Matt LeBlanc, now him I have a bigger problem with. Yes, as with the nominations for Best Comedy, I feel the nominations are a little bit all over the place. But on top of that, out of those five nominations, I don't think that Matt deserves the award. Apparently some people think him playing a caricature of himself is brilliant comedy writing. I don't. Yes, it was a nice role, but just nice. Nothing special, and certainly not deserving an award.
