Can't really agree with one of the comments above. BEST PERFORMANCE BY AN ACTOR IN A SUPPORTING ROLE IN A SERIES, MINISERIES, OR MOTION PICTURE MADE FOR TELEVISION. It's like the Oscars, it's the performance not the show/movie that get the price. So even if the show suck, the actor/actress can do a great job. Haven't seen Ray Donovan, and don't intend to, so I can't say if he deserved it. But it's still not the show that get the price.

Really, really happy that Modern Family got snubbed but even more surprised that B99 won.

Surprised on the "no comment" for Andy Samberg win. Thought we enjoyed goofy comedy / comedians at Tv.com? :D Don't let all this new age insanely high level writing for shows thing go to your guys head. But think it's too late, haha.

Jon Voight winning for Ray Donovan?

I guess... he did a decent job depicting his d-bag character. But in many ways it was just a generic thick-Boston-accent thug that we've seen a bunch of times. Only here he has a few quirks compared to normal presentations.

Ray Donovan as a whole just didn't do it for me. I don't think it was bad but it just didn't seem particularly great either beyond the first couple of episodes.

As to who else? Aaron Paul could have been good, and even Josh Charles would be alright assuming they graded on his depiction prior to Alicia and Cary leaving the firm. Since then he's been a mixed bag.

Amy Poehler winning put a smile on my face today. So glad she's finally won a Globe.

Only real complaint this year is Andy Samberg (I think he is great in B99, I just think there are so many actors that go un-noticed. i.e. Danny Pudi)

Okay, I get that Tatiana Maslany didn't win an Emmy, mainly because she wasn't nominated. But come on, Hollywood Foreign Press! If you gave her a nomination, that means you've actually watched the show - which makes her not winning an absolute absurdity! Get it together, people!

Elisabeth Moss, Top of the Lake. A most pleasing result ..... Tatiana was entered in a most competitive category. I would have preferred a win.

What the fuck people have against Andy Samberg? I never knew him before B99 and I think he's really funny and I like his character in the show.

My thoughts exactly. I know Brooklyn 9-9 is not exactly to everyone's taste, and there are certainly comedies that have smarter writing and better cast (not nominated here, though). However, given the competition, I don't see a problem with Andy Samber winning.

Personally, I love the show - it's goofy, it has a new look at cop shows (as a workplace comedy), and it has some quite funny cast. Yes, Chelsea Peretti could and should have been used more, and some of the tropes are being repeated, but I still think it is more than a decent show. Not many comedies on network TV can claim the same right now.

The show is only halfway through it's first season and its already better than most comedies. It's got potential to be great. Parks & Rec wasn't that good in its first season. Even the first half of Community's first season wasn't that great. Give it time to find its footing.

Good TV can NEVER be to everyone's taste, cause the vast majority of people are uneducated and dumb. They'll watch trash tv instead anyway!

Yeah, obviously there are other people in B-99 cast who deserve the award more, but we know how the nominations works for leading actor, and he plays the lead.

It's always great when a good comedy show is recognized over horrible shows like TBBT or Modern Family.

Brooklyn Nine-Nine won? Huh. Well, I'm indifferent to who wins in that category as long as TBBT loses. Samberg's win was a surprise, though. To me he is not even the best actor on that show - more like the worst - so how does he win best comedy actor in all of TV?

He's the ONLY lead actor on the show, all the others are "support". They wouldn't have been nominated in the same category as Samberg anyway. And Jim Parsons, God bless him, has enough statuettes already. ;)

I wasn't suggesting that the other actors on the show should be nominated in place of Samberg. The point was that Samberg is certainly not one of the five best male comedy actors in all of TV - and just as a sidenote: not even good in comparison with the other ones on Brooklyn Nine-Nine - so he shouldn't have been nominated in that comedy actor category in the first place, lead actor or not.

Amy & Tina were as good as I hoped. Except for that one intro Tina did. I'm over the moon that Amy won for P&R. Other than that, there were a lot of technical difficulties, weren't there? And who knew Diane Keaton was such a potty mouth. :)

Frankly, I'm shocked about all those wins from "Brooklyn Nine-Nine" - thankfully, everybody involved in the show seemed to be just as shock. But, if there's one reason why we should be glad they won Best Comedy, it should be because of the frankness of their showrunner.
"This is better than saving a human life!"
