... The premiere of The Voice screamed loud for NBC last night, drawing 11.8 million viewers and, more importantly, a 5.1 adult demo rating. It's the highest-rated premiere for a new show since Undercover Boss debuted to huge numbers after the Super Bowl. It's the biggest new show debut for NBC since—*drumroll*—2008's relaunch of American Gladiators. And where is American Gladiators show today? In the big human hamster ball in the sky. [EW]

... Spike has renewed college-football comedy Blue Mountain State for a third season. Also signing on for a third season is star Denise Richards, who plays the coach's wife. Let's hope more TV work doesn't cut into her real passion: being photographed on exotic beaches in a bikini. [THR]
