Heroes casts Claire's boyfriend

High-fives are in order for Nicholas D'Agosto. The young actor from Omaha, Nebraska, not only landed a major role on one of television's hottest new shows--Heroes--but he'll play the boyfriend of one of the program's most popular characters, Claire Bennett, a rep from NBC confirmed to TV.com today.

This is D'Agosto's first major television role following several guest appearances on shows such as Supernatural, ER, Six Feet Under, and Without a Trace. D'Agosto also starred in the Sundance Film Festival lighthearted drama Rocket Science.

As West, D'Agosto fills the casting call for Claire's boyfriend, leaving only a few more previously announced new Heroes characters for season two unfilled. There's no word yet on West's superpower, only that it is "very cool," according to Reuters.

Earlier this month, Dania Ramirez was added to the cast as a "twentysomething Latina." Ramirez was previously seen on The Sopranos as the ex-fiancée of A.J. Soprano.

Heroes begins its next season this fall on NBC. For more information on the show, read TV.com's previous coverage.
