Heroes leads a flurry of casting news over the weekend, with actor Robert Forster joining NBC's hit in the upcoming season.
Forster's addition comes with a bit of a spoiler attached to it--skip to the next paragraph if you like your television au natural. EW.com says that Forster, who was nominated for an Oscar for Jackie Brown, will play dad to a pair of superpowered siblings--Nathan and Peter Petrelli. It's currently unclear when and in what context--flashback, present day, or something else--Forster's character will be in the show.
Thomas Jane (The Punisher, The Mist) is adding to his manhood with his latest starring role. The actor has been cast as the lead in HBO's dark comedy Hung, about a man who's packing downstairs and figures a way to put his physical specimen to good use, according to The Hollywood Reporter. It's not TV, it's HBO.
Pushing Daisies continues its track record of quality guest stars (no Britney, Lindsay, or Paris needed here!) by booking Stephen Root for a four-episode arc. Root, best known as Milton from Office Space (though he'll always be the wealthy Jimmy James on the excellent NewsRadio to us here at TV.com), will play a character with connections to the dads of both Chuck (Anna Friel) and Ned (Lee Pace), according to EW.com.
Finally, Lisa Bonet (of Cosby Show and Angel Heart infamy) will play Jason O'Hara's girlfriend in ABC's Life on Mars, Billy Dee Williams (Lando Calrissian, Colt .45) will guest on Private Practice, and X rocker John Doe will play "the mystery man" in One Tree Hill.

Good idea to bring the Petrelli's father in Heroes. Now they need to get rest of the annoying characters. Like Maya, Alejandro and Claire's boyfriend. I forgot his name but he's annoying as well. Oh yeah it's West.
