Masi Oka, who plays time- and space-bending Hiro Nakamura in NBC's hit Heroes, has joined the cast of 21, a swindle drama set in Las Vegas.
The film 21 is based on the book Bringing Down the House: The Inside Story of Six M.I.T. Students Who Took Vegas for Millions. The book was based on the true story of a group of brilliant college students who won millions of dollars in Las Vegas after learning the illegal art of card counting.
Robert Luketic, who was originally slated to helm the big-screen adaptation of Dallas, will direct 21. The movie will begin production in February in Las Vegas and Boston, home of M.I.T.
Oka was recently nominated for a Golden Globe for his role in Heroes. Before landing the part, the self-described computer geek spent several years working for George Lucas' famed Industrial Light and Magic, where he worked on special effects for films Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest and Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith.

Cool =)
Well maybe this movie will be worth seeing since it has one of my favorite actors from my favorite show "Heroes". I seen a few actors that are on "Hereos" in a few movies, but the names of the actors and movies escapes me at the moment.
This movie sounds interesting enough with taking place in Vegas and staring Hiro of all people, well sign me up for a ticket.
If he's as good in the movie as he is in Heroes, then it should be a great movie!
I will be looking forward to seeing the film and Masi Oka Rocks MadManRob
You go, Hiro! He's cute. Would love to see him in a different type of drama.
Excellent. I've read the book and am looking forward to seeing the movie version.
Should be great
I love the story about the M.I.T Blcakjack team.
So this is going to be cool.
sounds good
seems like a good movie.
he's like the best guy on Heroes, besides Peter
Card counting, which by definition is done in one's head, is not illegal per se, but the casinos have the right to refuse service to anyone, and it is under that rule that they kick counters out of casinos.Masa is going to be a star, which is cool considering he seems like such a convivial guy.Good for him.
Just to clarify... As far as I'm aware card counting isn't illegal if you do it in your head.
