Hot in Cleveland Renewed for Season 4

Fresh off its People's Choice Award win for Best Cable TV Comedy and not as fresh off its Emmy win for Outstanding Art Direction in a Multi-Camera Series, Hot in Cleveland has been renewed for a fourth season.

Despite a severe drop-off in viewership, the TV Land comedy is still that network's highest-profile series. Hot in Cleveland debuted to 4.8 million viewers, but the Season 3 premiere last month only netted 1.9 million viewers. Perhaps because most of its viewers died after Season 2. (Haha, old people joke! Don't worry, I know I'm going to hell.)

The show stars Valerie Bertinelli, Jane Leeves, and Wendie Malick as past-their-prime Hollywood starlets who've find a warmer home in Cleveland. The show's main draw is Betty White, who plays an elderly caretaker who takes the women in.

TV Land is also working on an untitled spin-off of the series that stars Cedric the Entertainer. Cedric guest-starred as minister Reverend Boyce in a Season 2 episode, which served as a backdoor pilot for the spin-off. The show will follow his character as he returns to his hometown of St. Louis and copes with his wild past as an R&B; singer.

Someone who has seen this show tell me: Is it worth checking out? Apparently Betty White talks about sex, Nazis, and marijuana, so maybe it's good?

oh and as far as Betty White talking about drugs? She won't do that anymore. She didn't like doing that in the first episodes.

the viewers dropped off because season 3 was sorely lacking the magic of season 1 and 2. I hope season 4 is better because I really love those women!!

Anybody know ANYTHING about what has happened to Retired at 35 & Happily Divorced? I really like both shows and nothing has been mentioned on either show's return.

Both shows will return in March, if I remember correctly. Once "Hot in Cleveland" airs its first 12 episodes from their 24 episode season and "The Exes" finish their season, "Happily Divorced" will lead off at 10pm, followed by "Retired at 35." To be honest, I only watch "Hot in Cleveland" on TV Land, so this news isn't really exciting for me, but I hope you enjoy it.

Yes it is Tim! I remember my best friend told me about it, when it first started... She said it's really old kitchy, so I decided to check it out. Betty White is the best in it! So yes, watch it!

'the mean one with the bad british accent', not describing Jane Leeves there are you? The British actress who has an English accent because she is in fact English. There is no such accent as a British one we are made up of 4 different countries, learn some geography.

Wait, that spin-off sounds vaguely similar to Steve Harvey's old show. I'll watch Cedric because I think he's very funny.

Watch HIC with an open mind. It's fun. Betty and Malick have some of the best lines in the show.

after the first two seasons it turned out to be same plot in every single episode: the mean one with the bad british accent does sth stupid, or the motherly one falls into a weird position, the egotistical one gets yet another chance to go back to her glory days of stardom and it fails, and betty white stings everyone of them in every 5 seconds.. followed by a laugh track (actually that is the one and only show I realise the existance of the laugh track as it is sooooooooooo annoying and overly frequent).. oh, and then there is this serial course of events: the green card problem of the brit (I cannot remember the character's name), and the never ending love affairs of betty white.. now, I get betty is sweet and cute but you know, even for her, such a heavy love traffic looks ridiculous..

the first season was actually funny and entertaining to a certain extent, so if you ever plan to watch, that one will be more than enough..

It's not a bad English accent, it's her real accent. She's from England

If you love Betty that much, you should check it out. But at times, it's unwatchable.

Seriously, why??

This show is ur basic sit com and not really that funny, just ridiculous!!!

Anything with a laugh track has got to go!!!!!! And if you film live, why do you need a laugh track????

It was better when I thought Betty White's character was actually a stoner, but still fun, especially if you like Cleveland sports teams (which is basically just me).

Cedric the Entertainer's going to St. Louis? Maybe TV Land wants to steal 'Work It' and add Cedric as another lead. Can they do that? Why not!

It's definitely worth checking out. My sister and I never miss an episode. At first, we tuned into see Betty White, but we've since stayed for the entire ensemble. Jane Leeves and Wendy Mallick particularly shine! It is reminiscent of "The Golden Girls," but if it isn't broke, don't fix it, I guess.

It is good and I do recommend it. While the concept of the show is certainly nothing new (The Golden Girls) and it doesn't particularly reinvent the genre, it does provide some laughs. Hot in Cleveland is a pleasant, well-acted, old- school sitcom. Betty White, as Elka, shines in her role and is easily the best thing of the show.
