When Howie Mandel's new hidden-camera show is considered enough of a success that it gets picked up for a full season, it's either a reflection of the sad state of television in general, or the sad state of NBC. Probably both.
NBC has picked up Howie Do It for an additional 12 episodes, reports Variety, following a decent performance on Friday nights. Its ratings may not be off the charts (its averaging 6.5 million viewers and a 1.9 rating/6 share in the 18-49 demo), but it has improved on its predecessors Crusoe and America's Toughest Jobs.
In the program, Mandel goes under various guises and plays practical jokes on unsuspecting normal people in his hometown of Toronto, Canada. The show is also on the Canadian channel Global Television.

I do not like this new show at all wasted of my time
Not interested, I'm just hanging onto NBC because of Heroes and Chuck. Since the parent company put the axe to a number of shows I liked but they canceled across NBC and its sister networks, few shows make it onto my don't hate them because of the parent company list. No deal.
Well at least this one is more like Candid Camera from the original days of "reality TV".
I liked when he did his behind-the-camera stints on Jay Leno, they'd do something really funny, I guess it's tres similar to having his own show, I watched a few of his gags, some were ok, some were really dumb, but it goes to show what can entertain the American people. :)
No kidding, more. With this one I think less is better. Here Howie is just an Allen Funt wanna be.
Whatever - no thanks.
Not really something I'm interested in. I'd rather NBC concentrated on better drama or comedy.
Well, I'm HAPPY to hear it got picked up for more episodes. It may not be the GREATEST show, but I like it. Especially just cause it stars Howie Mandel...I'll be watching every Friday.
Great, I'll continue to not watch it.
I tried watching the show, but it's slow and just not that good. It's a wannabe Candid Camera and it's a lot worse... Oh well, whenever I'm bored on Fridays I might watch...
The only good thing about the show is that it's almost like classic Howie, pre "Deal or No Deal".
sounds like Beadles About!
