The popular teen star joins a growing list of big names for the annual awards that tell us who is hot and who is not according to the youth of the country.
The awards will take place at Hisense Arena, Melbourne, on November 13th.
Cosgrove has much to be excited about, given she is already nominated for the "Fave International TV Star" and iCarly is up for the "Fave Comedy Show" with Nickelodeon viewers. That puts iCarly ahead of Hannah Montana in the popularity stakes. Not bad for a girl who first hit screens at nine years old, starring alongside Jack Black in School of Rock.
"My friends and I look forward to Kids' Choice Awards each year as we just love it, so to be travelling to Australia for the first time makes it even more exciting! I can’t wait to meet Australian kids and be part of the show … I just hope I get slimed while I'm there," she said.
"We're pumped about coming to Australia to co-host the Kids' Choice Awards. We had a blast in Australia in 2007 when we opened the show, so we know Aussie kids can party with the best of them," said Benji Madden.
"But we better get slimed this time, like how Delta got done big time in '07! Bring it on and see you Aussie guys soon!"
Every year the KCAs lift in profile with plenty of television, music, movie and sports stars happy to walk the Orange Carpet, much to the delight of enthusiastic fans. Media too now gives the event their full attention.
So popular has it become that it is already a sell-out, but Nickelodeon is still offering the chance to win tickets by voting for the nominees at www.nickelodeon.com.au by November 1st.
The 2009 Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Awards will air at 7pm Friday, November 13th.
