IFC Renews Comedy Bang! Bang! for Season 3

Sick of the same old "haha" humor of sitcoms and tired sketch shows? Well then get yourself ready for the third edition of Comedy Bang! Bang! from indie-cred cable network IFC! The network renewed the absurd sketch-comedy talk show for a third season really early this morning, before most Americans had finished their first cup of the grain alcohol we require just to get through the day. Excellent for me, I love this show.

Following the show's current model, Comedy Bang! Bang!'s third season will arrive in two 10-episode packages full of host Scott Aukerman interviewing celebrity guests both real and fake. Don't believe me? Just look at all these people who are super famous in certain circles!

Look for Season 3 to debut sometime in 2014.

Good, I really enjoy this show. Sometimes it tries episode long running gags that don't really work for me like the most recent Phantom of the Opera parody episode but when it does it's usual thing it's really good.

Love Comedy Bang! Bang! Scott Aukerman (Gwakerman) and Reggie Watts have been able to consistently blaze new trails of comedy. A bit jarring when you first watch it, you have to hang in there for awhile to truly appreciate it.

When talking absurd comedy talk show, I'd say The Eric Andre Show has this beat. This one makes me feel like I'm watching an adult Sesame Street, The Eric Andre Show makes me feel like I've been trapped in an empty room for years.

Eric Andre Show is pretty great. I'm not fond of Tim and Eric though even though there is a connection of Andre to those guys. To me Comedy Bang! Bang! is like Tim and Eric done correctly; they're actually going for the same style of humor but actually nailing it, I don't think Tim and Eric have ever been able to write consistent humor. (Tim and Eric and Comedy Bang! Bang! are both descended from Mr. Show/Bob Odenkirk)
