In Memoriam: Remembering the TV Shows We Lost This Year

No TV series can last forever, and 2010 saw the end of some of the greatest and most beloved shows ever to grace the small screen. (It also saw the end of some, er, not-the-greatest shows.) And so it's only fitting that we pay our respects to those we've loved and lost; here's our video tribute to the shows we said goodbye to this year (plus Monk, which closed at the very end of 2009 but was too good not to include).

Fare thee well, old friends. You will be missed.

Which recently deceased show will you miss the most in 2011?

When you invest your time and truly enjoy a show, it's a loss when the show is canceled due to "poor Neilson ratings". The problem is that the Neilson Ratings do not take into account time-shifting which is when most of our viewing is done eliminating the tedious commercial breaks which destroy the created suspense. That said, my family and I will miss 'Legend of the Seeker' - brilliant show, 'Gates' - a well-executed vampire/werewolf/cops drama, 'Capricorn' - which really started to get interesting towards the end (slow at the beginning), 'Flash Forward' - which still had a lot of ground to cover, 'SGU' - loved all the Stargates, and 'Lost' - it was finally starting to make sense.

LOST! A lot of people think it was so overrated but it was the first TV show I've been addicted to and easily the best characters on TV.

I cant believe we didnt even get a conclusion for some of them Stargate Universe was amazing and they only gave it 2 seasons. Legend of the Seeker was out of this world yet the networks failed the series. Better off Ted was fantastic and hilarious. Oh and who didnt like LOST :)

I can't believe they left us hanging in the Stargate Universe, Terriers, The Gates and Ugle Betty!!!

Terriers was a really, really enjoyable, well-written show that almost no one knew about. Another network would be wise to pick it up and give more viewers a chance to discover it ...

I never watched any of those shows - so I am in the clear!! Although I still miss "My Name Is Earl" which was axed last year.

Oh why, oh why must they go, some with closure & those without?
Me oh my, so many of our favs, but here goes our list in this order:
1. Legend of the Seeker (an absolute gotta come back)
2. Ghost Whisperer (try to bring in another network)
3. Ugly Betty
4. Miami Medical
5. Terriers (they didn't give it a fair chance)
6. Monk
7. Law & Order
If only the network mongrels would stop using the ("Nielsen Ratings").
Since who are they (the few) to make the decisions for the many?
Just my opinion folks & our list & yes there are others not even mentioned.
A Happy New 2011!!

CAN'T choose only one! Best 4 are:

"The Gates"; "Merlin" (a twisted retelling of a timeless tale, but witty & engrossing); "The Tudors" (excellent actors, costuming, sets, etc.!). Not sure what's up with "Merlin"; it's not on the list, but I've not heard it was coming back. Same goes for "Pillars of the Earth". "The Gates" - vamp action for adults. Rhona Mitra alone was enough reason to keep it on-air! And "Legend of the Seeker" - I agree with every word that Jeremy ManKing said. Plus, I'm wondering if anyone else out there besides me is having my "Xena void" filled by "Legend"? I believe Rob Tapert is involved with "Legend", & isn't it listed as under "Renaissance Pictures", as was "Xena"? That's the show I'd give a coupla teeth & ALL other shows to have back again!!! So many possibilities, so many unanswered questions! BRING "XENA: WARRIOR PRINCESS" BACK!!!!

Legend of the Seeker! I've been of the books for years and this one of the few shows my wife and I both loved and would watch together. It didn't get the support it deserved from the networks and I'm sad to see it go.

So many good shows were lost in 2010.... Though I think the two shows that were obviously canceled before their time were Better OffTed and Legend Of The Seeker. Better OffTed was one of the funniest shows I've ever seen and Legend Of The Seeker was the best action/adventure/fantasy T.V. series that I've ever seen! Legend Of The Seeker still has so much potential. It shouldn't end yet!

With SG-U being canned, there is no reason what so ever to watch what use to be the sci-fi channel! It seems very appropriate that the name has changed to "Sy-fy" because this channel has absolutely, N-O-T-H-I-N-G, what-so-ever to do with science fiction any longer. It is a shame that what was going so right five years ago or so could get so screwed up in such a short time.

Legend Of The Seeker is one of the best fantasy shows ever made! Please, bring it back! There's not many shows of this genre on air (at least not with this quality level). The "Save Our Seeker" group will continue to fight for this goal. Now, ABC or Starz (or any other channel for that matter), just pick it up!!

Legend of the Seeker - Love that show!! So sad to see it end....bring it back!

Legend of the Seeker! Ridiculous how such a great show gets canned after just two seasons. Judging by its huge fan base and efforts to bring it back for a season 3 and more. Hard to believe, but still very optimistic!!!

Legend of the Seeker is brilliant everything about the series from the amazing story to the extremely talented actors, beautiful swordsmanship incredible stunts, convincing special effects ,breath taking locations and artfully impressive attention to costume detail I really need to know why the series cannot continue when from my sofa everything was going so well a terrible loss to not complete the story
