Are we breaking in or breaking out?
Well, Prison Break fans, I have some good news and some bad news. According to The Hollywood Reporter, cast and production members from Prison Break have been told by Fox that they may be filming an additional two episodes this season (yay!), but it may come with a huge catch.
I hope you have some salt near you, because you may want to take a grain of it when you read this next sentence. The Hollywood Reporter says that those extra two episodes may serve as a series finale...yep, a series finale (their idea, not mine!).
The idea behind the logic starts with Prison Break's ratings, which are down, but also includes the fact that Prison Break was not placed on Fox's recent midseason schedule (House and 24 will be moving to Mondays, and Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles was ostracized to Fridays). Prison Break is routinely one of those shows that is on the bubble when it comes time to cancel shows, but its ardent fan base has kept it afloat.
However, the two episodes could serve as a non-series-ending "event" (like 24: Redemption) that would air later, or could be DVD extras. It's all quite confusing at this point.
Again, this is all conjecture at the moment, but I thought you Prison Break maniacs might like to know.

If Prison Break ends at least in 2011 (go for 1 more season) as Wentworth Miller starred in Law & Order SVU, and with Christopher Meloni leaving in 2011, Wentworth's character, much similar to Meloni's, could be the replacement as well as good for his career! He was loved in SVU and gives SVU a chance to not write a whole new character based on Stabler. Nate Kendall can stay :D
pzzz....don't end it...we love all the cast of 'prison break'...sepcially scofield,lincon,t-bag,succre,brad ballack,sara,pual,alex,..everyone....we'll miss prison break......it was best series i ever seen.......
I love Prison Break!! But with all things nothing last forever. So it must come to an end i hope the producers come up with a replacement for it even though some things aren't replaceable.. i love this show...
Although it is becoming increasingly easier to predict what is going to happen, I still enjoy watching it. I can also see where they are running into a wall with story lines, I mean there is only so much you can do with escape convicts right?
Prison Break is among my favorites shows and I would be sad to see it end but one thing for sure the actors Dominique Purcell and Wentworth Miller should play in another series because they are great actor my facorite is the one playing Michael the brain of the two brothers. Well hope the writers continue or find something as good to replace it.tigger

My husband and I have been fans from episode one!!! The first 2 seasons were amazing! Perfect!!! Season 3 and all the "SONA" stuff was a stretch.. but still really good... this season has been a bit frustrating.. but I hope it ends well with the brothers taking down whoever or whatever the "company" really is... it's confusing though, because now supposedly the "company" isn't really bad... ???? I'm confused! Anyway.. this cast has so much talent and I hope to see them all somewhere else on TV in the future!!!!!
I for one think it's a good thing. The show's been great - except for season three - but there's only so much they can do. After the guys bring down the company, what else are they gonna do? Break into a scuba shop in an island somewhere? Bo-ring!
I love this show like the rest, but honestly, how much further can they take this show?? I certainly don't want to see it cancelled either.

Prison Break is one of my favorite tv shows, it feels weird that it's almost over
at this point the end of the show wouldn't be that bad. the show started with two great seasons. what came next were confusing plot- and characterdevelopment and a big turn towards the ideologic belief of our times (which was more or less questioned in the first seasons). but for the fans, i hope it stays on
I absolutely love Prison Break, practically addicted to it lol! I would love to see another season, but you never know maybe this current season will end with something good, and completely wrap things up. But I will be very upset when Prison Break is officially over. I think I would just cry, and cry. :(
Prison Break is the best show on TV!! Of course they can't keep breaking out of prison!!! It will be a shame if this is the last season...but all good things come to an end and I suppose that most of the cast will want to move on and do other things...its been great though!!!!
I found an interview where wentworth miller say's that the 4th season is probably the last.

I agree with a lot of the comments already posted, this season has been very strong and in my opinion an improvement on the last. Each episode has been edge-of-your-seat action and I'm glad that it will be coming to an end after this; there is only so much you can do with a single story week after week and keep it as interesting as the past four seasons have been.
i hope they end the show after this season. it's amazing now, after the weak second season they've steady been better and better and i can only see it be worse with a new season. i really hope that there won't be a fifth season. end it now when it's so awsome i don't want to be dissapointed.

I would much rather that this season be 24 episodes long and end things than to drag it any further into the mud. keeping this show going on forever is going to kill it, much the way they destroyed X-Files by refusing to let Chris Carter write a few well done seasons (I believe he had envisioned 4 or 5 only). Prison Break is getting into ridiculous soap opera land already, kill it before it kills itself.

Hey all, PB seems v r in the edge; but it also should b finished witout any delay. I love this show... love this like nothing & i never missed any epsode. i am in Sri Lanka, so far away from Europe. xactly 1 day different. watching through torrent sources. tks 4 da support all da web source uploaders. cheers....
I'm fighting with myself....After tonights episode, I really think they can't end the show right now, cause...HELLO. We've got a backstabber now, how they going to take him down in two episodes? So, there, I'm thinking of another season, then again...they can atleast do more episode, which leads to another season. Oh I don't know.

Prison break is the best show ever. I really hope it has another series but at the same time I fink they should not try to drag it out.

Although they could still bring the spin-off that was talked about out, I'd look foward to that.

Seasons 1 and 2 were my favorites. Season 3 was not as good. Season 4 has definitely redeemed itself. I wouldn't mind another season if they can keep it as good as it currently is. I just hope they don't go to prison for the 3rd time. Still it's a hell of a lot better than a lot of the reality crap that gets way too many seasons. Other dramas that I also enjoy are LOST, Dexter, and Breaking Bad. You might enjoy them as well. :)
I have enjoyed every season, some a little more than others. I really didnt think 3 was so bad. Actually I thought it was pretty cool in introducing new characters and what not. I think though the show should end on a high not.

Last night's episode had me on the edge of my seat. I don't want to see the show go. I'm really looking to the new upcoming episodes, and I really want to see what's going to happen next. I really love this show, and I just got into this show right before season 4 started, and I'll be really upset to see it go.
no please don't end prison break it's the best thing on tv.the writers can bring something up.as in desperate housewives they are making episodes out of little stories.i can't live without prison break.we are comparing seasons of the same show why aren't we then comparing it to other shows.no comparison.it's really sad not to hear about the characters we love any more what they are up to etc.just because season 1 was great and we want to keep it that way.

I think it's better to end with this really great season. I'm not sure that they could find something to keep waching for another year, they already break out twice (s01,03) be on the run (s02) and now "breaking in".
Hope they find something really good for a fifth season or else end it with this season.

I can understand it really. There is only so long a show about a prison break can keep going. Although I love the show, I knew this was coming...............
I hope PB gets a fifth season. The writers team is very capable and they can bring out another interesting storyline. And the people here asking for the show to end, please, go watch another thing, maybe big brother, and let who enjoy the series to keep being happy. All these silly coments about ending the series now, wow, what a bunch of crap! I want to remember these people that althought they escaped Fox River,they are still prisoners, so the title PRISON BREAK is valid yet.
