Oh, you tricky Lost producers. Telling us we won't see new footage from Season 6 until the premiere on February 2. I'm wagging my finger at you.
The latest promotional video hyping the new season starts off like all the rest, only backwards. Old footage is rewound (John Locke falling out of a building, the plane unexploding), further enforcing the "reset timeline" theory, but there's one nanosecond of footage that's a real treasure.
Approximately 15 seconds into the 30-second spot, there's a glimpse of a blonde holding a gun. That blonde is Claire, looking a little more scraggly than usual. In fact, and this has been pointed out by messageboard users, she's looking a little bit Rousseau in the frame, all crazy-eyed, jungle-hearted, and of course, packing some heat.
Theory time! What did Rousseau and Claire have in common? They both gave birth on an island that doesn't allow babies to be born. And apparently they're both trotting through a jungle with guns. Is Claire the new Rousseau?
Are things simply repeating on the island in some weird version of the time-loop theory? Is Ajira 316 the new Oceanic 815? Are Cesar and Ilana a new Kate and Jack? Is that copilot who died when Ajira 316 crashed the new copilot who died when Oceanic 815 crashed? Am I looking into things way too hard when I should just enjoy the ride? Probably. What do you think?

yah it dose seem more like ellie to me
... but that didn't come from me.. a user commented that info here:http://wastingyourtime.net/first-new-lost-leakage/
sorry folks.. that's probably not Claire.. she's probably Eloise Hawkins, remember her? She killed her own son, Faraday, who is also son of Widmore?
Okay so we know Claire is basically in Rousseau mode at some point this season but dammit what the heck was she doing in that cabin and where has she been for the last 3 years!!??
Anyone else notice that they changed this frame on ABC tonight when they showed this promo again after the season 5 finale? It's a similar shot of Claire, but she is wearing a white sweater with a brown necklace without a gun and doesn't look all roughed up.
I have a question for TV.COM: WHY PUT A SPOILER PICTURE ON THE MAIN PAGE WITHOUT A WARNING!!! UP UNTIL NOW I KNEW NOTHING OF THE NEW SEASON... WAY TO SPOIL CLAIRES RETURN.
I just hope it will not be like Dallas and be just a dream, and they will all wake up as the plane lands.
That Claire is Rousseau theory gives me weird BSG "This all has happened before and it will happen again" vibe
Claire looks hardcore right there! Glad to have her back.
But wouldn't John Locke still have fallen out of the building because of his father? That was before he got on flight 815.
I'm thinking that if the show does restart & the plane does land in LAX, then this image could just be a flashback or something, made to make us think that the show doesn't restart. And if it doesn't restart, then it means that Claire is wandering around the island with a gun.
yea man, cesar is dead. he got shot at point blank in the chest and no one's seen him since. unless someone takes over his body like the man in black did with locke, he's done.
THAT WAS BEYOND AWESOME!!!! I swear, I'm going into a self-induced coma until Feb. 2--I just can't bear the idea of being awake and alert until then. The anticipation would destroy me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
That was one hell of a trailer, I'm so excited!
hooooooly what a theory!! i bet that YES! in a different time, Claire IS the new Rousseau! her baby was taken from her! but that still doesn't explain her presence with Christian in the cabin....
Plant a good seed and you will joyfully gather fruit
It'd be interesting to find how they successfully turn the religious and paranormal absurdities into a solid realistic story. The whole thing must be a GAME - being played by Jacob and the other 'Man in black'. Jack, Locke, etc are all just pawns. But who's Jacob - that's the punch Cuse/Lindelof have to handle with acceptable rationalism. Let's see...
i'm pretty sure ben killed caesar last season and the actor who played him hasn't been listed as one of the returning cast members. Unless it's being kept really under wraps then i'm pretty sure we're done with caesar.
omg!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
the Libby shot is from when she gave Desmond the boat, I think. anyway, I really like the time-loop theory, it's just that they created the time-loop themselves - Momma Faraday said everything has to be as similar to the 815 crash as possiblealso, no-one "took" Claire's baby from her, she have him away, so the similarity to Rousseau ends on having a baby on the island
On the 15 second we see Libby and i don't thing that this shot was on the previous seasons!
The suspense, the thrill is rocking the house....Clever marketing gimmick to surge the hype....Quite sad it has to be the last season....
let's just wait and see.although the suspense is killing me.
@ 16 seconds in: "Plant a good seed and you will joyfully gather fruit"
What the hell is that supposed to refer to?
that isn't elle shooting farraday in the picture. she wasn't wearing that shirt when she shot him.
that is definitely claire, and not eloise hawking. Eloise was wearing a reddish pink shirt when she shot faraday in the variable. Also, that occurred in the camp, not in the jungle.
that pretty cool. Man i Can not wait for this show to start next month
I love that this show has books, blogs and everything in between. My wife bought me Lost's Secrets and I read it from cover to cover. Did it help--not so much but it did make me want to go and read a few of the odd books it suggests. And AMC's the Prisoner became a must watch. I agree with prison lost--I can't wait!
add a commentI like the idea, but Ilana and her teamsters had prior knowledge of the island. Basically, they were followers of Jacob from the outside. It will be interesting to see what their full purpose was, or was it just to warn Jacob that Locke was an intruder and now they could be gone from the new timeline?

I had never looked at things that way, but I really really hope that's not what they're gonna do. aaaaaaaaaaa I wanna knooow!!!!!!! CAN'T WAIT!!!!!!!!!
WOW cool!
WOW AWESOME
Love the history-repeats-itself theory. Saves a whole lot of script writing. Maybe Jack will pick up a guitar and become the new Charlie, and then he'll drown.
I was really hoping NEVER to see Claire again, The character always annoyed the hell out of me with her "Poor me I'm going to have a baby I didn't want" routine and she never really added anything to the quality of the show anyway plus Emilie De Ravin never seems to change personality when she changes character she could just as easily walk from the set of LOST to the set of ROSWELL to play two different characters without changing hair\clothes\makeup etc.
Flashes pretty quickly, interesting however.
