What took you so long, internet? I myself have been busy putting together my supercut of kittens that look like Saul Goodman, but how is that someone only now had some free time to put together a video of Game of Thrones characters fighting with lightsabers?
Thanks to YouTube user Joel935M for creating this perfect Friday distraction. Basically, he went over the footage from Season 1's great sword duel between Jaime Lannister and Ned Stark frame-by-frame, drawing the familiar Star Wars glow sticks over their swords. It's painstaking work, but the result is pretty sweet.
I've always thought the universe of Game of Thrones is the most fully realized fake-place since Star Wars, and you can certainly draw comparisons between the two. Joel935M didn't have the time to turn the Goldcloaks into Stormtroopers, but this scene looks like it could have played out on Mos Eisley. And if you squint and watch the footage through Saran Wrap, you might just mistake shaggy blondish Jaime for Luke Skywalker (ignore Jaime's red Sith lightsaber, obviously). And fans of the books will know that Jaime ends up sharing one major trait with Luke aside from the throb in his loins when he sees his sister.
Now someone put the SAMCRO dudes from Sons of Anarchy in TRON lightcycles!
What other Star Wars / GoT parallels can you come up with? And please, no spoilers for those who haven't read the books.
