James Van Der Beek is returning to television!

Hey, if Pacey can do it, why can't Dawson? James Van Der Beek, he of Dawson's Creek fame, is following in the footsteps of Fringe's Joshua Jackson and rejoining the medium that made him sort-of famous in the first place: television. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Van Der Beek has been cast in Fox's Eva Adams, which is set to shoot a pilot sometime in the near future.

Eva Adams, from Journeyman creator Kevin Falls and adapted from an Argentinian show, is a gender-swapping dramedy set in a sports agency. The main character Adam, who has yet to be cast, plays a fast-talking womanizing agent who gets turned into a hot chick after a witch's spell tries to show him what it's like to be on the other side. Van Der Beek will play a friend and coworker of Adam (or whatever his femme name becomes... perhaps Eva?).

Also cast in the show is David Denman, better known as Roy from NBC's The Office. He'll play another agent just getting over a messy divorce.

The triumph return of James Van Der Beek! Who has the better chance at making it in TV now, James Van Der Beek or Joshua Jackson? My money's on JJ.

Looking forward to this show. Journeyman was great, so I hope this new show by Kevin Falls will be just as good.

The Argentinian show this is based on has already been re-made quite succesfully all over the world, so why not in the US?

Besides, a show that focusses on the differences between men and women can certainly be funny. But what's most important is who they will cast for the female lead (Eva?). Only a very talented actress can believably play a man who's just been turned female...

I agree, the plot sounds too weird, the general idea is great, but the whole aspect of a witch and a spell just sounds dumb.

I like James Van Der Beek and I was happy when I saw the title "James Van Der Beek is Returning to Television!" until I saw the plot of the show he's going to be in:-( Come on! It's been done in movie form, not really interested in seeing it as a series! JJ is MUCH safer! LOVE Pacey! :-)

I never really liked him in Dawson's Creek. His character was too whiny. It has been hard so me to separate him from Dawson. I did not have that problem with Jackson. I loved Pacey so it was easy.

Glad to hear that Kevin Falls is in the process of making a new series. But I still miss Journeyman. We never got to know WHY, and that's the saddest thing a TV series can do to its audience.

OMG... are they kidding? I know FOX is desperate but please! I don't mind Van Der Beek but what the hell is that show? It's been done 280 times as a movie...lamely... and they really hope to make a TV show with that? Who are they kidding? If FOX execs don't want their shows to be axed after 3 episodes maybe they should start coming up with better storylines! Come on! They had to look in Argentina to find such a moronic overused idea? Also... this kind of gender war stuff might still work in latino cultures but I think it will never do in the US...

If I am not mistaken, Beachfrontglass, not exactly. The movie, starring Steve Martin was about a man SHARING a woman´s body. On this show, he simply changes his sex. I saw the original Argentinian show and it was funny. The main point was a macho man forced to live as a woman. By the way, Dawson is not so hot as the Argentinian actor playing the same character.:-)
The strong point of the show were a clever plot and a gifted actress. So, choose wisely, Fox.

Weeeeeird premise! I cant imagine James Van Der Beek pulling this off. Something tells me this show will get a premature axing.
