Jeff Goldblum appeared on The Colbert Report Monday night and admitted that he was, in fact, dead. Host Stephen Colbert paid tribute to "friend of the show and of dinosaurs actor Jeff Goldblum," as Goldblum stood by. Goldblum even tried Twittering the host to prove he was still alive, to which Colbert exclaimed, "The Dead can Twitter!" But after watching news footage of his supposed untimely demise, Goldblum had to admit Colbert had a point. Maybe he had died. The actor moved on to eulogize himself (and slipped in a plug for Law and Order: Criminal Intent).
False news of Goldblum's death on a movie set in New Zealand was reported last Thursday, as news of Michael Jackson and Farrah Fawcett's deaths spread. The story of Goldblum's death was quickly dispelled, but not before it shocked fans worldwide.

I hadn't heard the Jeff Goldblum mistake. Colbert definitely got me the other night. That whole New Zealand newscast was great. Jeff Goldblum has been great as a cameo the past few weeks.
I love when he comes on the show. First it was for the defense of the fly that the president swatted. It has really made me like him more. He is good on Criminal Intent also. It is nice to see an actor who can make fun of himself and his career.
