Jenny McCarthy will join ABC's untitled comedy pilot starring Patricia Heaton as a widow who finds friends and a path to a new life through the PTA.
The former Playboy Playmate, who recently wrapped ABC Family's holiday movie Mary Christmas, next appears in the summer feature John Tucker Must Die. Her latest book, Life Laughs, comes out April 25.
In other pilot news, Richard Kind has joined CBS's comedy pilot The Angriest Man in Suburbia, which centers on a family man (Mitch Rouse) who struggles with the petty annoyances of daily life in suburbia.
Kind's series credits include ABC's Spin City and HBO's Curb Your Enthusiasm.
