CBS has given a full-season order to its freshman series Jericho. The network credits the series with boosting its ratings for the night in key demographics.

Jericho averages 11.3 million weekly viewers, and has lifted CBS's Wednesday 8-9 p.m. ratings almost 50 percent over last year. The show stars Skeet Ulrich, Gerald McRaney, and Ashley Scott in a tale of a Midwestern town dealing with the aftermath of a nuclear bomb explosion.

Jericho is the second new series to get a full-season pickup. NBC gave Heroes a full-season order last week.

NBC has confirmed it is bringing back the Patricia Arquette mystery drama Medium. Beginning November 15, Medium will air Wednesday nights at 10 p.m., in the spot Kidnapped is vacating.

Freshman action series Kidnapped was moved to Saturdays last week after it was announced the show will wrap production after its 13th episode is filmed. The network had committed to airing 13 episodes.

CBS is not immune to the freshman blues. The net pulled expensive Ray Liotta drama Smith from the schedule last week.
