Jim lives...again!

According to Jim is doing what Gilmore Girls, Arrested Development, The 4400, and Veronica Mars couldn't; it's surviving.

ABC is in talks to bring back the half-hour comedy starring Jim Belushi for an eighth season, according to TVGuide.com's Michael Ausiello. Ausiello cites a source as saying the deal has actually already been made, but not officially announced yet.

The show was thought to be left for dead last year, when it wasn't included in ABC's fall schedule. In a surprising move last June, the network revealed it was bringing the show back for a seventh season as a midseason show.

The show definitely has its critics ("If [According to Jim's renewal] was caused by the strike, then we definitely lost too much," said one executive, according to Ausiello...Ouch!), but is apparently still making enough money to justify keeping it on the air.

According to Jim stars Belushi and Courtney Thorne-Smith and is currently airing on Tuesday nights on ABC. For more on the show, check out TV.com's previous coverage.

Going with a partial cast has really hurt this show. Larry Jo does a great job as the bumbling brother in law but without the rest of the cast I cant see how they can put together another full season.

I will say I'm pretty surpised. I use to love this show but it has just gotten so dumb the last two years. What ever. ABC hasn't mentioned anything about OCtober road coming back but According to jim okay.

the problem is that in the past when it was first on soooo many people watched it// where did the viewers go ? abc is in denial about the viewers dissapearing.

Most critics don't like Jim Belushi or his series, but the "viewing public" does; that's why he's probably going on for a ninth season. Besides, ABC owns the series, and there are very few situation comedies on their current schedule that have the audience HE does. And he IS funny!

I like jim Belushi. He's had a decent career but with quality shows getting axed left and right, how does this show survive. I gotta get a nielson box. I agree that at least that anothe reality show won't take its slot or worse another night time game show.

WTF?!? According To Jim is the worst sitcom currently on tv. How this show manages to keep getting renewed is beyond me.

Agreed with adamonfire. Just another example of the (sad) state of average American viewer.

Why does this piece of crap keep coming back, when all the good shows get thrown to the wolves?

Put an intelligent show like Cavemen in limbo, but constantly renew a show that stars and panders to actual Neanderthals. Great.

Please don't mention Arrested Development in the same article as this show. Thanks.

absolute insanity. with all the probelms we as Americans face in a given week we now have one more, making sure to tune out of ABC so we don't accidently catch a glimpse of Jim and go blind. I can't believe this is an actual show, it's so bad~~!!~~
