Justin Bieber Arrested on DUI and Drag Racing Charges in Miami

Justin Bieber was arrested in Miami early Thursday morning on suspicion of drag racing and driving under the influence, the Miami Beach Police Department tweeted Thursday. The singer appeared before a Miami judge via video Thursday afternoon and his bail was set at $2500.

According to a police report, Bieber and rapper Khalil (who was also arrested), were drag-racing Lamborghinis at about 60 miles per hour in a residential area where the speed limit is 30 miles per hour shortly after 4 a.m. Thursday. Two black SUVs were allegedly blocking traffic in order to give the two an open road on which to race.

Bieber had bloodshot eyes and reeked of alcohol when he was stopped, the arresting officer notes in the police report. "Why the f--- are you doing this?" he allegedly said to the officer, noting that he had just finished recording music. "I ain't got no f---ing weapons. Why do you have to search me?" 

Though Bieber initially resisted arrest, he was brought to the police station for a Breathalyzer test and a drug evaluation, according to the report. The results of those tests have not been made public. He was also charged with driving with an expired license.

Around the same time that the arrest occurred, Khalil also posted a photo on Instagramshowing someone's arm on a wheel with the caption: "Miami nights ridin thru yo city in that hot wheel."

According to TMZ, Bieber and Khalil were racing each other after leaving a club, and a model was in the passenger seat of Bieber's .

The arrest comes about a week after police raided Bieber's California home searching for evidence that the singer egged a neighbor's home.
