Kanye West was given permission to tweak the rap he performs on The Cleveland Show, the E4 programme's producer has revealed.

Rich Appel revealed all about the rapper's upcoming guest appearance on the Family Guy spin-off at a special Q and A with fans, as part of the Paley Centre For Media's PaleyFest 2010 in LA.

Rich explained: "Kanye came in and we had written this two-page rap for him, we were very nervous when he was looking through it, he had one little note and said 'would you mind if I change this one little line?' and I'm sort of thinking 'we've written one rap, you've written more than one rap - yes, you can change it!'"

He added: "He plays a locally famous rap star named Kenny West ... he was great."

Rich said Kanye fans will be amused by his appearance.

"It's a blast to see him poke fun a little at himself and see him knock it out the park," said Rich.

The producer also revealed there would be more musical guests on the show next season.

"We've just cast Will.i.am for season two and T-Pain," he said.

:: The Cleveland Show is on E4 on Wednesdays at 11pm.
