APRIL 1--Hollywood Wow! reported today that Fox and ABC have joined forces for a novel form of synergization. The networks will feature Jack Bauer, the character played by Kiefer Sutherland in the Fox action series 24, in the ABC supernatural series Lost.
The storyline is being kept under wraps, but sources say it involves Bauer crash landing on the island in a WWII biplane after he is fired by CTU. Bauer and Lost character Sayid, an ex-Iraqi army interrogator, compete to see who is the best at devolving into paranoia under the guise of protecting the security of the island. The climax is said to feature the two engaging in a torture contest.
Lost creator J.J. Abrams told the sci-fi Web site U Bet I'm a Fan! that he was looking forward to the marriage of the two shows.
"American's attitudes toward show-show marriage are changing, and I think viewers are ready to see Bauer yell at Charlie and tell him they don't have enough time," Abrams said.
I Heard This One Thing.com reports that Elisha Cuthbert, who plays Bauer's accident-prone daughter Kim on 24, has also signed on to appear in an episode where she trips and falls down.
To up the ante, viewers will be able to vote via phone and the Internet for the character they want to be exiled to Black Rock.
"Since the show is written weeks in advance, the votes will have no bearing on the outcome, but it will make the viewers feel like they are part of something," said Jay Blanezdell, ABC vice president of blendization and synertasticness.
In other Lost news, Unsubstantiatedz reports that William Shatner has signed on to replace Terry O'Quinn as Locke in the series. This has been a busy year for Shatner--in January he passed a kidney stone that was sold on EBay.
The episode starring Shatner and Sutherland will air only on April Fool's Day.

any news on 1st April should just go un noticed.....even if it is serious because that way ur not making a fool of urself telling ur friends about it...For example there is a forum in which someone said that Keifer Sutherland is leaving and Ben Stiller is going to replace him for the movie. Now the name Ben Stiller for action should start ringing the bells but he went all sad on me...hehe
how cool would that be though? eg. Jack2 (bauer) breaks Jack1 (doctor) out of his glass prison, then ends up having to play russian roulette with him, Jack2 promtly shoot all 300 people in the room with one bullet and then stops Terrorists From Nuking the entire island while battling to save Kim from going out with Sayid...

Ouch. This one actually had me fooled. Humility, party of one, right here. But it would have been interesting if Jack Bauer did appear on Lost . . . nah, it'd never happen.
Surely the character who should turn up on Lost is John Carter from ER. He could be flying back from Africa when his plane crashes on the island. Cue: who is the best doctor battles with Jack.
OMG! I actually believed the entire story until I read some of the comments. I feel like such an idiot! But that would of been so cool to see Sayid and Jack compete. But we all know Jack would of won. ;-) You guys are so cool.
I almost believed this considering the actor who plays Desmond on LOST had just appeared on two episodes of 24...
OMG! Well, as long as we're dreaming...let's have Tony make a miraculous recovery and come out of the forest riding the Polar Bear at a very fast clip because he is being chased by Klingons! And since Captain Kirk's alter ego, William Shatner, is on the island, I'm sure that at some point, Scotty will beam down Mr. Spock and Sulu to save the day!

Aww. Shame really. Would have been an interesting episode, but I guarantee critics would have hated it. I have to say though, I didn't catch on till the last 2 paragraphs, but Lost can get pretty far-fetched at times, so can you balme me...
I accually read this first today as I was away all weekend. I were like "WHAT!?". Theese are my to best shows on TV and now they would get combined? That would be a disaster... Thos I think Jack could do alot of Fun on the island questioning the others :D. Anyway... I read a few lines and then I figured it out to be an April Fools joke! But it was a good one! :D
Every April Fool's Day, I take anything I see with a grain of salt. I didn't visit this site then, and haven't until today. Long story short, it's impossible to get me on AFD, not so impossible to get me after, because in a perfect world none of these joke news stories would still be up after AFD.

Jack (Bauer) would at least be looking for those characters who disappeared nearly months ago or trying to find some way off the island rather than playing strip poker with Sawyer and trying to "fix" people.
