Kristen Bell Won't Let the Veronica Mars Movie Die

... The oh-so adorable Kristen Bell is still holding onto hope that someone will turn Veronica Mars into a movie. This rumor has been circling for a long time now, and just when we had all come to accept that it would never be, Bell comes along and stokes the fire again. She's taken to Twitter and Facebook to generate interest for the film, asking fans to go online and let Warner Bros., which owns the VM rights, know that they'd see the film. By the time this thing gets made, Veronica Mars will be 70 years old. [Comic Book Resources]

... Schadenfreude! Jay Leno's The Tonight Show is suffering in the ratings, pulling in the worst numbers for the late-night show ever. Yes, even worse than Conan's numbers. [THR]

... The writer-director of super scary Paranormal Activity is giving television a shot with The River, a spookfest set around the Amazon River. ABC is said to be close to finalizing a deal for the show, which follows a team of people trying to find a missing TV personality/adventurer (think Bear Grylls) who vanishes in the Amazon. Scary stuff happens. [Deadline Hollywood]

... Battlestar Galactica's sexy Tricia Helfer will guest star in Fox's Lie To Me as a possible love interest for Cal Lightman (Tim Roth). This will be her first guest appearance since she dropped by my erotic dreams last week. [TV Guide]

... Jennifer Lopez is finally close to signing her deal with American Idol, according to TMZ. If the deal goes through, she'll sit at the judges' table alongside Steven Tyler and (probably) Randy Jackson while the one-time megahit sinks like The Titanic. [TMZ]

... ABC's Jamie Oliver's Food Revolution won an Emmy last week, forcing ABC to give in and renew the show for a second season. [The Live Feed]

... In better news, A&E; has decided to give Steven Seagal: Lawman a second season after a sexual harassment suit against Seagal was dropped in July. [The Live Feed]

... And finally, no one does drunk tweeting like Louis C.K. [Twitter (obviously some very hilarious and very profane language)]

I really hope the VM movie gets made. I think we all need some closure....and to see her end up with either Duncan or Logan.

  • KingofIPirates

Would really like to see a Veronica Mars movie

  • gmx13

Only way a VM movie could work is if they rebooted the whole thing with a different cast. What made the show stand out was that she worked as a PI while still in high school.

  • CeeCeeHalpert

They can't make a direct-to-dvd movie for two reasons, selientje: 1.) Joel Silver said they did research for it and found the dvd sales of the show weren't high enough to warrent it. 2.) Even before Joel Silver said that, Rob Thomas said he didn't want to do a direct-to-dvd movie because he didn't want to be "that guy." So he's too good for it, I guess. Also, ewww, Duncan and Veronica? That ship sailed when Duncan was written off in the second season (and thank God for that). It's Logan and Veronica or nothing!

  • selientje

Why can't they make a low-budget, direct-to-dvd movie of Veronica Mars. There's definitly some interest there. I mean they make movies these days about the stupidest things, and all we ask is 90 minutes or more of a tv-show we love!

  • gossipgirllover

agreed 100% JoshSutton!! I LOVED Veronica and Duncan!! but even if they don't reunite I'll still definately go see the movie!! i so hope it happens!!

  • JoshSutton

    Duncan and Veronica reunion please!

  • BenHL

As much as I'd love to see a Veronica Mars movie, I don't think it'll happen. It's been a couple of years now, and we've seen little movement on the project. There doesn't seem to be much interest outside of the loyal fanbase, which is a pity.

  • JohnnyDrama8

So maybe they should have just kept Conan on in the first place. I always thought Leno sucked and Conan was way funnier.

  • atc4gvn

VM rules! Rocks and Rolls! Although, yeah the repeated main storyline of the sexual assault from the SECOND season AGAIN in the THIRD season was too much! V. please detect something new. There are far more crimes, even in little old Neptune than the very difficult and very sensitive one they chose to exploit.

If you want a Veronica Mars movie, Kristen would like for you to join this Facebook page: http://www.tv.com/kristen-bell-wont-let-the-veronica-mars-movie-die/story/23836.html?tag=hotspot;gumball;1

I did. I think this is very cool of her. Her movie career is going solidly and she has a lot of upcoming projects, but she still wants to give the fans what we want. At least she doesn't think she's too good for something like this now. Makes me love her even more. I'd kill for a Veronica Mars movie. It's not like it would even cost that much to make so they would easily recoup their budget. It would also renew interest in the show and people who haven't seen it yet may check out the DVD's when they see a movie is coming out. Come on WB, do it for the fans!!!! A Veronica Mars movie would make my day. I loved this show so much. I want some flippin' closure. Otherwise bring back the show. It would do as much or more in the ratings than CW's current shows. Do something for us fans please!moreless

  • Rachaelma

I also have given up on the making of a veronica mars movie since most of the cast have gone onto new shows but if Kristen Bell is Fighting for VM Movie then We the Fans of THe show Should be Fiting as well. Let's hope we get some good news on this front.

  • sourabhshetty

I have given up hope on the VM movie and the AD movie. And Tricia Helfer is on EVERYTHING.

  • VConn

Is that an actual second season or jst the 8 extra(unaired) episodes from October 6?

  • laffertyluver

I hope that the Veronica Mars movie gets made...we got seriously dupped not getting a proper ending

  • Nikell

Mann.. all that rapes can't be unsolved!... maybe veronica's grandchild can solve it!... someday.. soomeday.. and.. about Tricia.. she was in my dreams too!..hehehe.. ur funny Tim!

  • wantedcube

Make the VM movie!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! it should never have been taken off air!!! they are talking about making a tv heroes movie?! WHY!? it was a *** and still is a *** show! whereas veronica mars never lost its shine! VM WAS THE BEST SHOW EVER!

  • sandbur

I'd watch a VM movie just to see Jason Dohring back on screen where he belongs! And if there truly is a talent fairy, JLo will not be on any panel for anything!

  • Sheryl_F

Leno's numbers are in the toilet? GOOD!

  • GODHOOD

I can see this going straight to DVD/Blu-Ray but not as a theatrical release, I just don't see Veronica Mars making $30 million At the boxoffice. Hopefully people haven't forgotten Veronica Mars.

  • jenny_d_b

If I was a millionaire, I'd donate enough money to make sure they could afford making the VM movie. That's how much I miss the show, and how much I love Veronica. She was the perfect role model for young girls everywhere!

  • inlovewithalion

I dont care where i have to see this Veronica Mars movie as long as its a mind-blowing storyline eith all the orignal cast and ill be happy as a clam!
Love Veronica Mars and miss that there noting out there like it! Come on Warner Brothers let the VM fans have this :D

  • pandacharmed

If they just convinced them to make a TV movie or Straight to DVD movie, there would be more hope. Srsly...

  • Starprincess13

I would love a Veronica Mars movie! I really hope we get one.

  • pretty_sure

my bad i thought i was in swellovision hellovision.

  • pretty_sure

My Hell-o-vision of the week is tonight(friday) i sat to watch jimmy fallon do my favorite bit. Thank You cards. it got 30 seconds into it when it cut out for some live crap called Arizona Friday Night Fever. A show that spends 30 minuts of jimmy fallon informing me about college football. NO ONE CARES! I WANTED TO WATCH JIMMY FALLON!

  • Ercie1

I'd love a Veronica Mars movie, and I'm glad she isn't letting it go. Even if it doesn't do the show justice, it would still be Veronica Mars. Granted if they try to recast the important roles... I wouldn't enjoy it.

  • lefty1213

i would love to see a veronica mars movie, especially cause i started watching it after the series got over... so please make a movie!!
