Kristin Chenoweth finds post-Daisies gig

Kristin as Olive.

Kristin Chenoweth rose up the television ranks these past two seasons thanks to her role as Olive Snook on ABC's recently departed Pushing Daisies. But she isn't done climbing the ladder yet; the diminutive star has landed a major role as the lead in David E. Kelley's next project for NBC.

Chenoweth will play the unusually named Skippy Pylon in Legally Mad, as reported by Variety. Legally Mad is the latest legal drama from courtroom mastermind Kelley, who just wrapped up Boston Legal. We'll get to see a different side of Chenoweth, given that Skippy is a Chicago-based attorney who exhibits symptoms of psychosis.

"I've wanted to work with her for a long time and can't wait to reveal her as someone who's completely mad," Kelley told Variety.

Presumably, this is the same project previously announced from Kelley, which features a father and daughter who are both lawyers. Who would you like to see as Chenoweth's father?

We're happy for Chenoweth, but we'll miss you, Olive Snook.

I know in hollywood and actor can't wait too long between jobs and often times they are auditiong for things when they are working on another show. I just wish she waited before she chose the NBC show. Pushing Daisies is an amazing show. Here is the online petieions to show ABC their folly.

Loved Kristin ever since her Cunegonde in "Candide" and Glinda in "Wicked." I'll watch her in anything. The father can be anyone except "Denny Crane."

I stopped watching his shows when he runied the final season of 'Practice'. I still awake early on Sat AMs 2 watch in on FX. BostonPublic was another FANTASTIC show.

I may it give a try but no promises.

Can't we just keep Pushing Daisies instead? Though at least I'll still have Kristin Chenoweth to watch. I just hope the new show lets her sing.

Love, love, love, love, love Kristin. I hope that David Kelley can make another success with her in the footsteps of Ally McBeal, The Practice, Boston Legal, Boston Public, Picket Fences and Chicago Hope.

This just may be my deluded fantasy of a West Wing reunion, but Martin Sheen could play her father in LM (if it is the same 'previously announced project').

Glad to see her back so soon. I thought that whole nunnery turn at the beginning of Pushing Daisies kind of doomed the show.

I'll follow Kristen's next project wherever it may lead her, she's a wonderful actress, loved her as Olive Snook, and love her singing as well! It's too bad she has to fall under the spell of such adjectives as "diminutive," though.
