Law & Order actress set to exit

Annie Parisse, who has played Assistant District Attorney Alexandra Borgia on NBC's Law & Order for just over a year, will leave the veteran crime drama at season's end, sources said.

A network spokesman declined comment, saying that "it is the producers' desire to keep the season finale of Law & Order under wraps because of some surprising developments."

Law and Order is one of the most successful shows on TV, spawning the spin-offs Law & Order: Criminal Intent, Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, and the short-lived Law & Order: Trial by Jury.

Was I dreaming ? Didn't they find her body in a car trunk ? Help ...

I used to love Law and Order! I gave the new cop and assistant DA a try and NO SALE! I can't get past the new woman com... to pretty and to unrealistic. I gave up.

If they wanted to go with a female cop, they could have even taken Mariska's stand in while she was out (I can't think of her name). She was tough, still attractive and had an interesting personality (somewhat torn). The original L&O needs to get back on track!

ok... I missed it. I need to find a recap someplace. BUT I'll say that I can't see them getting rid of Sam Waterson. Even if he wants to leave, I'd say they'd be smart to pay him anything they had to to keep him. Jack McCoy IS that show! In MY opinion (and it's just that... and opinion) Waterson, Harmon, and whathisname current DA were the best trial trio, and Brisco and Ed (forget his last name) were the best cop duo. Naturally, they can't raise the dead, so Brisco can't come back, but Fontana was a close second. I'm also going with the majority and say I really wish they'd bring back Angie Harmon. She was a good addition to the trial team.

Ok. I'm done. I've got to go find out what happened on the last episode!!!!

THank god shes leaving.. she was too involved..THey should make Sam waterson the DA.. he has been there for like 10 seaons.. theyve gone thru like 4 Da's (my fav was Adam schiff)

But bringing back a character like stephanie march would be weird.. because al lthe L&O are set in New York... And since Stephanie March is in Witness protection.. It'd be awkwrd.. unless they gave her anew name but Alexandra Cabbot fit so well.

jlr523, you couldn't be more wrong when you stated that "Dick Wolf needs to understand that L&O will never capture the 18-25 young men demographics they want." I'm a 24 year-old male, and have been interested in L&O AND understood it, since I was 8 (when I first saw it, which was also the year it premiered)

Why a whole new character? Either bring back Angie or add Stephanie March now that Conviction is cancelled!

What a way to leave the show.

What a shame to lose a gorgeous, yet unassuming actress whose character wasn't out to steal every scene she was in. Why leave after such a short stint? Can't be because she was garnering much negative feedback.

Does anyone know if Jamey Sheridan is now off Law & Order: Criminal Intent?

This is terrible news! My husband and I have watched this show since its inception and we liked her character as well as Cary Lowell's. She was likeable and pretty believeable. Dick Wolf needs to understand that L&O will never capture the 18-25 young men demographics they want. L&O is an intelligent drama that creates discussion-not titillation. We only hope that he doesn't bring back Angie Harmon or Elizabeth Rohm. The writing was first rate this season although we will miss Miss Parisse.

Good riddance! They had replaced a blond airhead with a brunette one. Hope the next one has a brain and strong opinons of her own (aka Angie Harmon)

Jack is staying. They just made those commercials seem as if he was out. He may have some explaining to do come fall, but as if they'd ever get rid of him.

I can't believe they killed her off!!! A different move for L&O!

Jack needs to stay. I don't like Bebe Neuwirth, though she was good in that one TBJ episode Truth or Consequences. I can't imagine Sam Waterston leaving the show, but if they want to bring in new district attornies, they should put him in Branch's spot. He's been there long enough to earn the position.

I wouldn't be surprised if both Jack AND Alexandra were gone after the season. The season finale blurb said that Jack was putting his career and others on the line for a big case. I'm guessing the BIG L&O surprise they keep teasing is Jack leaving and Alexandra will just get tossed in it as well. Plus, Dick Wolf is also having an open casting call for actors of all ages to audition for DAs AND cops. I wonder if either Ed or Fontana might collateral damage either- but I doubt it. My guess is that next season will feature two new DAs... maybe even the lead as a woman. Heck, maybe even Bebe Neuwirth (reprising her TBJ role) or Stephanie March (if Conviction gets cancelled).

I heard the season finale was about Jack leaving the show after so long. According to Ask Asselio (Sp?) on tvguide.com

Im kinda glad she is leaving. It wasnt really her fault, but the charactor she had to play was just anoying. Always went against Jack, got to personal... I dont know... im just kinda glad they are getting rid of her. Not the best Law and Order charactor id have to say.

It's interesting, one job in law and order that has certainly changed the most is the ADA who supports the main ADA. Suprise, suprise.

They just didn't make her look as good as they should have... Her character was kind of frumpy and plain, a bad move for a woman so obviously hot.
