It's good news for Law & Order: Criminal Intent fans and bad news for Law & Order: Criminal Intent cast members.
Fans of the drama will be happy to know that the show is still returning for its seventh season, as was revealed at the NBC upfronts in May. Viewers can also expect to see Criminal Intent's cast return, with Vincent D'Onofrio (Detective Robert Goren), Chris Noth (Detective Mike Logan), and Kathryn Erbe (Detective Alexandra Eames) all coming back for another year.
However, getting the show to lucky number seven came at a cost. In order to keep the crime drama running, series creator Dick Wolf agreed to keep the budget down, says Reuters. Wolf's solution was to not offer the standard season-to-season raise--usually in the neighborhood of five percent--to the cast.
Though the actors were disappointed, there's no need to feel too badly for them. "They make $350,000 each an episode, which comes to $3,850,000 a year," a source told Fox News' Roger Friedman. "Not bad."
Law & Order: Criminal Intent debuted in 2001 and will move over to NBC's USA Network next season, with repeat airings on NBC. For more information, read TV.com's previous coverage.

It is my opinion that Vincent D'Onofrio is the most incredible, believable actor I've ever seen in a television role. He appears to put his heart and sole into every story and we, the audiance, find ourselves involved wrapped up in his character, his thought process. My husband and I look forward to each and every episode with Vincent D'Onofrio in it. Kathryn Erbe compliments his chaacter and they work off each other beautifully. We would rather see more of these characters on Criminal Intent than we would Jeff Goldblum. Please don't tell me this series is going to end.

y'all are funny - after taxes, paying agents, managers percentages - 10%, 15%, 20%, the cost of living in nyc, the cost of living in a fish bowl - security, 3 mil sounds like a lot - unless that money is invested - wisely - it's not that much - the most i've ever made in a year is about $30,000.00, but i only have to give about 18% to uncle sam - they lose about half
I wish at some point the female detective would be someone older. These men are near 50 years old but the women are about 30. What about a woman who is working and divorced?widowed?kids in college? I thought Anabela S. was closer to the true age of a seasoned detective.
Glad it's coming back. Not really crying over the fact that their salaries got cut down.. they're still making over $300 000.00 per episode so it's not like they're starving.
why not just get rid of the show all together?
The fact is this. The show almost got cancelled due to underperformance. Had the show been cancelled, there wouldn't BE 3 million a year for each of them. So how about they just be glad that NBC is letting them keep their jobs.
They should be happy they have jobs that pay them that much to begin with; I agree with lynjs - try living one month on a regular Joe's salary.
As much as I love L&O:CI and the cast, as well as its two other sisters shows, I must say this: Let them come and live off of what my mother makes, barely over minimum wage (with no benefits) for the next couple months in the home care business. I bet by the time they get back to their cushy $350,000 per episode gig, they'd thank their lucky stars. If one can't live off that per episode, you know someone needs to go and speak with someone about their mental state.
I agree with Mamalazz, they make more than most people. It bugs me when people make so much money and they still act all spoiled and keep demanding more raises. Plus, they're famous, so they get free stuff all the time anyway.
Wonder who will replace Nicholson?
Glad its back.
Maybe next year they will get a pay rise!
I don't understand why the cast needs more money. Vince, Katherine, and Chris are paid more than Charlie Sheen and Hugh Laurie and their shows are in the top twenty. I was under the impression that the reason Chris Noth left Law and Order was because Dick Wolf won't give him a raise. At least the show will be back.
glad its back
well hey they still get paid more then most
I didn't get to see many episodes of CI this season because of the timeslot and everytime they have a repeat it's from one of the 6 episodes that I already saw... The episodes I saw this year weren't all that great.
so Julianne Nicholson is out? that sucks
