In recent months she's played a fashionista in Material Girl and a ghost in Being Human, and now Lenora Crichlow's set to try her hand at motherhood for new BBC Three drama, Dappers.
The pilot, which also features Ty Glaser (Emmerdale), Darren Boyd (Smack the Pony) and Olivia Poulet (The Thick of It), revolves around two young mums as they try to make something of their lives.
Having fallen pregnant at the same time friends Ashley (Crichlow) and Faye (Glaser) decide to team up and start a scheme that will earn them some money while they have some fun – by looking after other people's pets. An idea that doesn't go down well with their neighbours.
The comedy drama, set in Bristol, is one of the first endeavours for its creator Catherine Johnson since she found success with her award-winning musical, Mamma Mia. Talking about the show, she revealed: "I'm so happy to have filmed in my home town of Bristol. This beats a Greek isle with Pierce Brosnan and Colin Firth any day!"
