Lost's Perrineau fights Demons

Harold Perrineau, who played the character Michael on ABC's island mystery Lost, will play an evil-fighting priest in the upcoming CBS series Demons.

Demons follows a priest who performs exorcisms. Perrineau will play a clergy friend of the mean character. Bodygaurd and Volcano helmer Mick Jackson is taking over directorial chores on the Demons pilot.

On Lost, Perrineau played Michael, a castaway who was stranded with his son Walt. In season two of the show, Michael's character took a violent turn and was written out of the series.

Perrineau played the character Link in the second and third Matrix films. Up next he appears in the sequel to 28 Days Later, titled 28 Weeks Later.

Anyone else notice that his character in this proposed new show sounds awfully similar to his guest role on a recent episode of CSI? I haven't heard any new news on this show Demons...maybe CBS decided to just scrap it and use the character idea for the CSI episode instead....

@ kevinb4444When Michael leaves Ben (or Henry as he claimed to be) gave him precise coordinates... apparently you can't leave the area that easily, Desmond (the guy who was pushing the button) sailed for days and wound back up on the island.Also... Ben also alluded to the fact that if he did send help, he would eventually have to fess up to how he got off the island in the first place, by murdering Libby and that ex-cop girl.

I don't think I ever realized Michael & Walt were gone from the series, they got a boat and left, so why wouldn't the characters have told someone were the were, they should write an episode and show them crashing or something like that. What violent turn they left on a boat, did I miss something?

I like Lost, and I liked his character. I wished he never left. But this new series sounds pretty good. I might give it a chance. I wanna see him on another episode, though.

I never liked his character. He was too annoying. He had the same leadership desires as Jack did, but he never thought before he did anything. Even when they had the episode of losing his son as a baby, trying to give him reasons for how he is, I never changed my mind. I do want them to come back at some point, though, so we can find out what is really up with Walt.

I don't think his character "turned" as much as everyone says, the guy was showing some serious parental emotions throughout the whole of the second season. His last scene was a bit abrupt, but i felt it was needed to progress the plot at least they didn't just kill him! He'll be back..

I didn't really like his character on Lost, but Perrineau was a pretty good actor, so Michael kinda grew on me... but I don't think the new show will do very well. Best of luck!

Michael had LOST, and he let it all go for mere demons. SO sad.

The producers have a Q&A on EW.com now where they say they may return to Michael and Walt in season 4.

Michael and Walt are far too important for him to just be written off... not unless he's going to die on LOST?

He will be back at some stage but only as a guest actor for a few episodes

I did like his character on Lost, but when the writer went south with him, it was only time.If the new show doesn't make it, i would like to see him come back, thanks to the writer leaving an opportunity (maybe Ben gave him wrong directions?)Anyways good luck Harold!

I agree that the way Michael left the show felt weird and hasty compared to what we're used to from the writing team of Lost. But I guess they did what they had to do given the circumstances. I wouldn't say that the general quality of the show is noticably lower than before, and I hope the ratings pick up now that the show is coming back.

I think Perrineau is a good actor and he definately deserves a new show to work on.

There needs to be some closure with his character on Lost. It's still a huge plot point and needs to be resolved.
