The Sci Fi Channel's new miniseries The Triangle has enlisted Lou Diamond Phillips to play the part of Meeno Paloma, a Greenpeace expedition leader who encounters a dangerous mystery in the Bermuda Triangle. Meeno teams up with other professionals to investigate the strange and deadly force.
Phillips' breakout role was that of doomed singer Richie Valens in the 1987 movie La Bamba. Since then, he has appeared in many popular movies and television shows, which most recently include 24 and Jack & Bobby. He has been honored with a Golden Globe nomination and a 1989 Independent Spirit Award for his work in Stand and Deliver.
The Triangle is shooting in Cape Town, South Africa. In addition to Phillips, the cast will include Eric Stoltz, Catherine Bell, Bruce Davidson, Sam Neill, and Michael Rodgers.
