Mad Men Infographic: Don Draper's Women

Last we saw Don Draper, he was announcing his engagement to that toothy Québécoise, Megan Calvet. A collective cry of "Really, Don? Your secretary?" erupted from the 21st-century viewing audience, as if we were Faye Miller herself on the other end of the telephone line when he made the call to tell her they were dunzo. Don's choice of a mate wasn't exactly a vote of confidence for the newfangled '60s Career Woman, and somewhere a glass ceiling sighed. But if you look at our Venn diagram of dear Mr. Draper's "ladysphere," you might notice that only Megan has successfully managed to navigate the three pillars of his life: "Family," "Love/Sex," and "Business." She's held a secretarial job with panache, boldly disrobed for "the lion" without any '50s notion of "no sex before marriage" (unlike that drip Bethany Van Nuys), and showed a real knack for handling the increasingly surly Sally in a way that Faye never could. Take a look and let us know what you think: Do Don Draper's many women line up the same way in your mind? Would you put someone else in the center? Sound off in the comments and let us know.

We'll presumably find out whether Don's lady situation remains the same as it was at the end of Season 4 when Mad Men returns this Sunday, March 25 at 9pm on AMC.

What happened to Sally? She gets her picture in the graphic but no clarification in the list? Where's the love? I hope this doesn't cause her to act out again or Betty might have to get upset. And you wouldn't like it when Betty gets upset.

Alison had been at Sterling Cooper, later SCDP, since Season One.

There was something about Candace that I liked. I doubt we will be seeing anymore of her though.

This is brilliant! It un-complicates Don's relationships very well.

I'd put Peggy in the Family circle at this point. She's seen Don cry.

sorry but if you have Suzanne in the Family & Love overlap... Betty should be there too.

The show did not allow me to be particularly invested in Don Draper's love interests, given that they only exist as long as he (the ravishing man that he is) is, well, interested.

But given that I cannot wait for the new season, I will encourage any news, article, picture or any other type of devilishly vague teaser tv.com throws at me. Also, that FringeFanatic and me seem to watch the same shows, so hello back (this time without an echo).
