Mahogany exits The X Factor

Mahogany's last performance on The X Factor (Australia).

With the decision in the hands of the public, viewers last night decided which contestants would make up The X Factor (Australia) top three.

Mahogany has been voted out of the competition, leaving Sally Chatfield, Andrew Lawson and Altiyan Childs to compete in The X Factor (Australia) grand final.

The group of four girls made it into the final four last week, with a seemingly secure entry thanks to their solid harmonies and a distinct gap in the industry of female music outfits.

Unfortunately, the Australian public disagreed.

The producers tallied the public vote from Sunday and Monday's shows, which revealed Mahogany garnered the lowest total, resulting in the group's departure from the talent competition.

This leaves celebrity judge Guy Sebastian devoid of competing acts as the grand final looms next week.

The three remaining contestants will be given a rare opportunity to perform a duet with international singing stars Jamiroquai, James Blunt and INXS.

The final say will again be left up to the public, who will decide which act gets a recording contract with Sony Music.

The X Factor (Australia) grand final airs 7:30pm Sunday and Monday, November 21-22, on Seven.
