Men in Trees swings to new premiere night

The Men are on the move.

ABC is switching the premiere date for its new series, Men in Trees. The sitcom, from Sex and the City writer Jenny Bicks, will premiere on Tuesday, September 12, at 10 p.m., following the season premiere of Dancing with the Stars. The show was previously scheduled to premiere on Friday, September 15.

After the Tuesday premiere, Men will move to its regular time slot, Fridays at 9 p.m. ABC will rerun the Men pilot at 8 p.m. on September 15 before airing the new episode.

Men in Trees stars Anne Heche as Marin Frist, a self-help writer who gives relationship advice to women. While en route to a speaking engagement in the remote town of Elmo, Alaska, Marin discovers her fiance has been cheating on her. She decides to stay in Elmo and put the pieces of her life back together.

Bicks created the show and is an executive producer along with James Mangold and Kathy Conrad. The series also stars John Amos and Suleka Matthew.

ABC had originally planned to make Friday night "ladies nights," and Men had been paired with the Salma Hayek-produced Ugly Betty, a remake of a popular Colombian telenovela. When Betty generated some positive buzz, ABC moved its airtime to Thursdays.

What happened to new episodes anyone know please let me know i would love to know when the new episodes will air!!!!!!I am in love with this show. What a horrible twist i am still hoping for Lynn to realise jack is not in love with her and that he loves Marin. I;m crossing my fingers and hoping Lynn leaves so Marin and jack can finally have another shot to be in love.

I love this show to. And I did like Jack,But I'm not impressed with the way thing are going now . They've turned Jack into a spineless jellyfish. I know there are many ways they can take the show. But come on, no one would just take someone back that easily. Especially when he suppose to care so deeply for someone else. Time to get rid of Jack and take his girlfriend with him. She has no character about her she is so boring.

I would like to see Marin find someone with spunk

and keeps her going and alive.

Men in Tress is one of the best new shows! And the fact that it is filmed in Canada, although not in Vancouver like that misinformed person above mentioned, just adds to why it's great. But back to M in T, Bens really funny, but Jack is the best!

Something I forgot to mention yesterday. Jack reminds me of a young Clint Eastwood, especially his voice. Anyone agree with me.

This has become one of my favorite shows. Of course, anything with both humor and wit usually gets axed. Hopefully, Men in Trees, will survive corporate's arbitrary cancellation of anything that makes the audience actually think!

This is currently running with Grey...as my favorite show... Or at least the one I am looking most forward to each week. Jack is yummy! The show is funny & sexy. A great adult show on a night that is made for "kicking" back.

What a lousy way to depict Alaska! And what's up with the skunk and raccoon? The closest mammal to a skunk up here (yes, I am from Alaska)is a wolverine (related mammal), and raccoons were introduced to Prince of Wales Island, but died out in 1973, so are these 2 critters supposed to be someone's "pets" - ?? As to being a funny show, it falls seriously short. Very smarmy acting; a show based on a relationships "expert" trying to fit in a town of almost all men (Is this a Talkeetna thing?), so many parts of this show are so messed up, and I've watched it since the premier, trying to give it a chance - no wonder it's filmed in Vancouver!! I give it a 1 - too bad!

This show was great, funny, and the setting is beautiful. It has humer and a sexy feel, and I think it's going to help some men and women come out and look at themselves and relationships.

Loved the show....of course Northern Exposure has always been my favorite show of all time. At first, the first 30 minutes of the Pilot episode I thought to myself "oh no it is a NE ripoff. The bar look like "The Brick" the radio station is KBHR...Anne Heche is the female version of Joel Fleishman...but, then it changed in the second :30 and it reminded me of another one of my favorites..."Sex in the City" Plus...the guy that plays Heche's future boyfriend is so hot!!!!

The "Woo Hoo" song on "Men in Trees" is "Black Horse and the Cherry Tree" by K. T. Tunstall. Bob Schneider also had some songs on it--awesome!!

I absolutely love this show! Gives me a reason to feel good about Friday night TV again.

Reminds me of Fridays in the 80s (Miami Vice), Fridays in the 90s (X Files)...sheesh, did I ever have a life?

First thing I said to my partner while watching the pilot was "Northern Exposure." Which is a GOOD thing! I've never been an Anne Heche fan, but this character is so out of her regular genre that she's actually believable as the fish-out-of-water in an absolutely believable place. For someone who rarely watches network TV this is a real treat and, if the rest of the episodes are as good as the pilot, will become 'Must See TV' in our house!)

I believe it is Northern Exposure with a female lead. We had the bar,(btw, it looked a lot like the one in NE)the small radio station w/ the quirky DJ. The only thing missing was the town millionaire but I went to sleep before it was over, so I might have just missed it. I loved NE and I will try watching it again Friday night.

We also liked it. It does remind me of Sex in the City, and Grey's, but you forgot to add Northern Exposure to the mix. Alaska is just like that though....you come here and when you arrive, you either visit and go home with great memories of how beautiful it is, or you just cant leave...it swalllows you whole....and you stay....like I did.

This show was cute & funny, sort of Meredith Grey from Grey's Anatomy meets Sex & the City. I might catch the 2nd episode to see how it continues.
