Michelle Rodriguez, star of Girlfight, Blue Crush, and The Fast and the Furious, will join the second-season cast of ABC's hit drama Lost. The network announced that she will become a series regular.
Her character was first introduced in a brief flashback in season one, when she shared a drink and a flirt with Jack (Matthew Fox) at the airport bar. It was assumed she had been killed in the plane wreck, as she hadn't been seen on the island among the group of 48 survivors. However, in the season opener, the plane split in two. The front section held the survivors, which is the current cast, but the tail section disappeared. Now, the Internet is alive with rumors that the castaways from the tail section will be found on a different part of the island.
Lost, from Alias creator J.J. Abrams, is one of the freshman hits ABC had in the 2004/2005 season. The other hits included Desperate Housewives, Grey's Anatomy, and Boston Legal.
