Models, Dolls anchor CW's midseason

One of the last bits of housekeeping the major networks tried to finish before 2008 hit was their new midseason schedules. With the Writers Guild of America still on strike, networks were forced to scrap their initial plans of new scripted shows in early 2008, forcing many to spend late nights to get their formulas right. The CW apparently needed a little more time than most, as today it became the last major network to announce its midseason schedule.

Script-free television has always been important to the CW, with its biggest hit, America's Next Top Model, leading the way. The 10th edition of the show will kick off on February 20, where fans will get their first peek at the newest panel judge, former supermodel Paulina Porizkova. Speaking of reality hits for the CW, the second season featuring slinky ladies shaking their collective moneymakers, Pussycat Dolls Present: Girlicious, will debut on January 28. Repeats of the show will later be paired with America's Next Top Model, a formula that proved successful last year. And finally on the reality tip, nerds begin trying to woo hotties in the fifth edition of Beauty and the Geek, which debuts March 11.

The CW's three new breakout hits of the season will shuffle time slots as the network tries to get more eyes. Teen soap Gossip Girl starring Blake Lively will move to Mondays beginning January 28, the devilish Reaper starring Bret Harrison as Satan's bounty hunter will possess Tuesday nights starting January 15, and the comical adventures of two outsiders trying to fit in--Aliens In America--moves to Sundays as part of a comedy block that includes Everybody Hates Chris, Girlfriends, and The Game.

This is totally confusing - makes it sound like there are a swag of new episodes of Reaper, Gossip Girl, and Aliens in America. I reckon there are only unaired episodes of AiM - they made 17 and have shown 10 I think...hmmm.

i'm not fan of cw anymore. I may watch Beauty and the Geek because I didn't mind that show and I will be watching One Tree Hill for sure and Veronica Mars is done, people. They can only play repats. Which is boring.

I'm still upset with the CW for canceling Veronica Mars, now they're trying to cover up the existence of Supernatural(They're dream come true). New episodes need to come soon, so Supernatural can claim their place back. Enough with the rant, but I'm looking forward to One Tree Hill, Smallville, Everybody Hates Chris, and Gossip Girl. I can't believe The Pussycat Dolls got a second season.

THIS STRIKE IS SUCKING BADLY..... I am really fed up with repeats and crappy alternative shows

Interesting that CW is changing nights as there aren't new eps for Reaper, Gossip Girl or Aliens in America. One wonders why they are preempting repeats of Supernatural on Thursdays for repeats of Reaper.
